HAS ANYONE INSTALLED A VLAND LED TAILLIGHT UPGRADE FOR A 2017 IS or Later to 2019?
My taillight kit did not come with an aftermarket camera bracket and when I installed it, the BU camera was blocked, and the studs on the outer edges of the uni trunk light assembly where the plastic OEM nuts go back on, are too long, so they hit, and the trunk lid will not shut. I will need to cut the studs slightly to get the needed clearance, but the camera has me worried. No instructions for this company and this model other companies have YouTube installations but they all have extended aftermarket plastic camera brackets. It is possible, that I am installing the trunk portion incorrectly? OR WAS THE BRACKET LEFT OUT OF MY KIT AND THE STUD LENGTH IS JUST BAD QUALITY CONTROL? Quarter panel tail lights were installed without issue.
Here you go, had to cut studs to get the trunk to close, and leaving off trim piece under the uni- trunk light gets some of the backup camera back, but not all! The company selling this does not seem to know anything about a relocation camera bracket.
REMOVING TRIM FROM V-LAN UNI LIGHT OVER THE LICENSE PLATE AREA ADDS SOME AREA TO THE CAMERA VIEW BUT NOT ALL. VEHICLE LOCATOR LINES CAME BACK. LOOKS LIKE CRAP WITHOUT A TRIM COVER THAT COVERS THE 4 10MM BOLTS THAT INSERT FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE TRUNK. TRIM COVER COVER COULD BE MODDED TO HELP BUT THE LIGHT IS NOT DESIGNED WITH BACKUP CAMERA USE AS WAS INTENDED FROM THE FACTORY.

First, it looks like you are using the stock backup camera bracket so that is the first problem. You need the Vland (or rather HC Motion) backup camera bracket. It looks like a crappier version of the HC Motion lights which are already crappy. I have the HC Motion setup on my car and it is fine, but they are prone to leaking. You 100% need a camera bracket that can fit the camera through the now thicker hole. The studs you can switch the plastic nuts to the shorter studs and put the metal nuts with the open end on the longer studs.
So HC motion is crap as well?? and what about iilumos, and Tanso Werkz's, same problems??? The long studs hit the 10mm nut covers you need to remove to get to those nuts on the outside taillights in the quarter panels the only fix is shorter studs or cutting them with a carbide cutter on a Dremel which I did and cured that. (The trunk would not shut) With the Vland license plate light trim piece off the trunk most of the camera is visible, I am in contact with Vland and they are sending a bracket but I had to supply a pic the lights QR code sticker to get the ball rolling. At least HC states that moisture can be removed by disassembly. Do you know what moisture does to leds had a headlight short and the factory Lexus controller $3200.00 to fix had to put in on insurance, as the headlight was bumped in the rain not even cracked just the seal was broken.
From my understanding, HC Motion and Tanzo are the same, as most others. I am not aware of where Vland gets theirs but my guess is is all from the same manufacturer.
To cover my bases I contacted HC Motion by Instagram, Vland has shipped My Missing backup camera bracket that was missing. He has not messaged back price with shipping yet. Hopefully Paypal.
