Default Stereo upgrade for 3.5IS 350 F-Sport

Tried to find older threads but can't seem to find related topic.

Looking to upgrade std stereo on 2024 IS 350 F Sport.
No complain on the current stock std stereo.
TBH, I can't hear anything.
This is my weekend drive with windows-down along Highway-1 along Big Sur between 4-7am between Monterey<>Bigsby when there's no traffic (I can wreck my car without killing anyone else but me).
So, there're only 4 things which I can hear; the wind, the waves, the little engine/pipe roar & the bang when I crash thru the side-railing again soon.
In short, this year, I don't need no stereo.

Next year, my son wanna use this car for daily commute to college.
He complained the stock-bass still very far from those in 100% Made-in-Germany Porsche Audi/BMW/Mercedes (not the 10-60% USA components crap you call SUV) which his high school mates will be inheriting from their dad/mum(s).

My son believe the current stock stereo is way better than any Premium JBL on my top of the line Toyota or Premium Bose my top of the line Honda, which I have totaled in the Big Sur ravines.

Question: Which sounds system upgrade do you recommend?

Background: Not willing to pay dealer $1800 for ML (actually there's no ML option or availability for none-top-of-line IS 350, not unless I wait for few quarters).

Ambition: Dun wanna be fleeced by Bay Area Car Stereo shop known scalpers in Santa Clara / San Jose / Mountain View.

As someone who has installed hundreds of sound systems professionally I'd recommend getting some new dash speakers for a.better high end. Then remove the stock sub and throw something small like a single 8" in the trunk. I'm going to do just that here on mine after I get back from vacation.
