LF-CC vs IS spy shot (wheel size artificially increased for comparison) assuming coupe will have the same roofline as the sedan:



Right off the bat the concept has a longer wheelbase, significantly lower roofline, and a more protruding rear bumper. Wheel well sculpting also seems to be toned down to the point of uselessness on the production model but the pointy trunk remains. Rear window kink will likely remain.

I cannot say I condone Lexus' tendency to release sexy concept cars followed up by significantly toned down production models.

You are also comparing a coupe to a sedan. Sedans, by design, just aren't as sexy.

1. You're basing this off two pics that aren't the same size.
2. The IS test car is still heavily camo'ed and you have no idea what lines are on the metal under there
3. Lexus is not the only company that releases concept cars that get toned down for production.

I did not comment on the lines under the camo, just the shape and bodywork based on what is visible.

Apple to orange. Like someone said, coupe always have sexier lines because it doesn't needs to be practical and comfortable inside like sedan counterpart does.

The camo is meant to throw people off. One example is when the camo 86/FR-S was testing everyone said it looked "bland and boring". Months later the production car was shown at Tokyo and for the most part everyone was happy with the final product. Lesson learned, don't judge a car until it is official unveiled.

That sedan there has great proportions in that chop...lovely front door to wheel gap and short overhang..More raised roof should help rear seat room.

Actual IS sedan looks better than this. This chop looks like a BMW. The coupe however is a thing of beauty!
