I really hope they give the back seating at least a few more inches on the 2014 IS. One of my co-workers recenty bought the new 2013 BMW 328 4 door and a bunch of us went out to lunch, I was quite suprised at how much rear seating increased, I had more than enough leg room.
I'm not looking for GS or LS back seating but something a little more comfortable in the rear then the current IS. Do you think we will see much difference than current IS for rear seating?

The 2nd Gen will always carry special meaning for me, soon after I bought it new in 2007, I got a call from JM Lexus to invite me to participate in a small intimate gathering with the designer of the IS in a luncheon hosted by JM Lexus. It was a day I will never forget, there were about 8 or 10 other IS owners also invited along with staff from JM and the car desginer and his interpretator. It was so amazing, they were asking us what we liked and disliked or what we could change for next design. They wanted feeback. The food was amazing, desert and all. At the end they presented us with gifts from Japan. JM Lexus is the best dealership!!
I will most likely be upgrading to the 3rd Gen IS350, I just hope it can surpass my expectations.
Do we know if the designer of the 3rd Gen IS is the same designer of the 2nd Gen IS?
Oh and by the way, I just got my JM Lexus monthly newsletter and in it they are offering for sale right now a black 2012 LFA Sport 552 hp
Wow that thing looks amazing!!

In terms of powertrains, we know at least for the first two years they are carryover engines. So I wouldn't expect the 250 to wow many. 350 is still pretty competent and gaining the 8-speed auto will be good for fuel economy though I hope the 350 doesn't lose it's impressive gearing.
It's also slightly wider and longer which should give a more planted feel and high speed stability with the longer wheelbase.
A host of new tech including blind spot monitoring will put it on par with the rest.
To be honest the G is really a wildcard. Powertrains might be from Infiniti, might be from MBZ. Wo knows about chassis. 7-speed auto and CVT is likely.

I have seen the Silver Lining color on other models but what is Glacier Silver?
Is that a new color?
I hope its not like the Frost Mica that has pink and blue specs in it.

I will have a nice interior and a front end some will love and some will hate.
It will fit in the segment, but not lead it.
