This definitely isn't the next IS, but I found a render of a 2015 IS-F sedan. I'm not sure if this has been posted before.

I'm sure there will be a leak of some sort closer to Detroit. I just want to see it now!

I can't wait to see the real 2014 IS so we can finally compare it to these hideous artist renderings that have been floating around for a couple of years.

We are really getting down to the wire here. Very historical time is about to happen. We are going from the 2IS being everything we know about IS's for the past seven years, to the focus greatly shifting to something all new and different. It's kind of scary, going to take a little getting used to, but likely all for the better once we see the next IS face of the future.
A part of me wants it to look good and another part of me does not want it to. I HAVE to hold onto my IS until I own it and not dream of a new car every night. Rock and a hard spot!

I own my 2IS outright and I still plan on keeping it for another 10-12 years, reliability permitting (I've owned it for 3 years/60k miles so far with no engine/electrical problems. The only issues I've had are wit the ubiquitous creaks and rattles during cold temperatures). I suppose in a strange sense I wouldn't mind if the 3IS turned out to be ugly (although I doubt this will be the case).

Honestly I plan on keeping my IS350 until it totally breaks down. If that means owning it >12 years, then that's fantastic. I'm hoping it'll last for 200k+ miles.

The 2006 IS350s still seem to be running strong 7 years later, so I'm hoping 12+ isn't unreasonable for an '09 IS350.

welll, here is my post in this thread again :-)

New JDM Toyota Crown is going to be unveiled next month, it will have 300h engine.
What Response is reporting is that gas engine will have 18hp more than Camry Hybrid in Japan. Torque of electric motors seems to be 10% more as well. Battery should be still NiMH. We dont know the battery output which is the limiting factor here (motor itself is 143hp, but usually they cant output more than 40-45hp from battery)... so generously assuming same hp difference and battery output of GS450h, we arrive to max hp of 230hp for IS300h that is possible. Of course, it could end up being 215hp :-). Or it could have lion batteries for Lexus which could output a little bit more hp (probably not likely).

Interesting part is that, Crown's are based on GS and this thing in Japan will have only 0.4 MPG less than Camry hybrid. So quite possibly, we could have GS300h in Europe that gets "39-40 mpg" (based on US standards). That kind of seems wild right? Especially if they manage 52hp motor output like with GS, it will have 230hp... which is perfectly fine.

This is basically big refresh for Crown, similar to what they did with 2013 LS... here is Crown Athlete... notice the interior, which was similar in 2008, and seems to be where Rav4 and Avalon take their inspiration from (look at center stack and how it goes up).

oh and yes, Crown should have 8 speed AT in 3.5l engine... so it must be coming to IS350 and probably GS350 as well.

anyone getting the new GS now could get screwed next year like the 06 GS300 did. If there is a power increase and the 350 getting the 8 speed the IS gets it first then the GS. Anyone who got the 06 GS got shafted when the 07 GS came with the 350 engine. IS seems to get the new stuff first

so Lexus should never update their engines or vehicles, because someone is going to be shafted every time?

Right but just look at what a winner the 4GS is. Same cannot be said about the GS300.

That said, IMO MY2016 is the year to get a new IS possibly GS. Rumor has it the new turbo 4 and turbo 6 will replace the 250/350. This would also mark 10 years that the 250/350 had been out so perfect timing. There's no point for me to get a 3IS in 14 since it's the same engine. I'll wait two more years

GS350 is awesome engine... I have yet to see turbo 4 that is better, including in MPG. I doubt they will do turbo 6, as it doesnt make any sense for GS350 replacement.

But sure, we could wait... if we wait until 2015, then we can wait until 2018 I guess when brand new 5GS might get released!

Well maybe 2021 when facelift comes out and.......

:-)

I'm betting a new turbo 4 banger will be introduced at launch.
