Well maybe 2021 when facelift comes out and.......

I didn't say it was a bad engine. In fact most my posts praise the DI 3.5 for its power and efficiency. With rumored word of turbo applications and the current industry shift towards smaller displacement with forced induction, the 3.5L's days seem to be numbered

i know you like it... i am just saying we can wait forever that way.

And also that so far, 4cly turbos are nothing special compared to 3GR-FSE.
All those Ecoboost's are not doing anything good in reviews at all. Under average real life MPG and acceleration.

Good thing is easily chippable I guess but thats about it... however if you chip it, you lose the fuel advantage.

I am sure they will get there, but i have read so many reviews, and it seems like it is cool feature for PR, but not in real life. Of course this is against US spec 2.5l 4cly and above...

At launch of the new IS? I'll take that bet. Hoovey is much better informed on this topic and has stated that the 2.5 will carryover initially.

This is a shot of the refreshed HS for Japan:

How close is the next IS front end to that?

Agree. Everyone seems to have been brainwashed by the "turbo = Godly" propaganda.

Truth is that a large capacity NA 6 cylinder still can't be matched for its near-electric throttle response and smoothness.

I know for Germany and Eastern Europe, there will be same 2.5l V6 as now, and Hybrid 2.5l with 200+ hp and crazy low emissions/MPG.

I would assume that UK will get Hybrid for sure, just the question of price remains... in Europe, it should be around €5k more expensive than 2.5l.

hybrid should be a lot better. 68 MPG UK and 220bhp. Not only better mpg but faster due to electric motors giving it boost.

I have not driven IS250 but I did drive GS250 and it is dead slow until you spin it above 4000rpm which is annoying for sedan... with Hybrid, you get boost of 50hp anytime you press gas, from electric motors... so even when driving at low speed, if you kick it, you get 50hp right away.
