The comment about how these prototypes are "90% of what the real production car will be" is interesting. Does that include driving dynamics, or are they just stating the obvious (unfinished interior, for example)?

The original 1999-2006 1IS had conventional hydraulic power steering.
My 2006-2013 2IS has electric power steering - it's a bit devoid of feeling, but they have significantly improved the feel of the electric power steering in the new 4GS...

Even the latest Porsche's have gone EPS.
However the latest Porsche and Scion FRS/BRZ have good implementation of EPS with good steering feedback according to most reviews.
