Meaning unlike the pre 2011 IS models you will not be able to get the sport suspension and the good luxury features both on one car...

it is like lexus is doing everything it can to keep me from buying another car from them

Hope the engine specs get known.

Oh and I found a F1 video clip which has the fully automatic gear boxes, this is what Lexus should put in!! From simply listening and when the gears are switching consistent to show that is fully automatic, so the driver doesn't need to use the paddles at all unless they want to.

This really needs to be standard or an option on most trim levels including the base model. It's a sport luxury car with BMW-targeting intentions. Is there any news of a traditional manual transmission being available on some model(s) as well? BMW offers them, and the IS is targeting the 3-Series...

Lexus is never going to truly compete with BMW unless they make manuals.

not completely true. Give the industry less than 10 years. The newest M5 had it's 6M thrown in as a last minute request by consumers. BMW was reluctant but caved. They've already said the next M5 will not come with a manual. Auto's are now proven to have better performance and efficiency, and because that's the way the industry is headed, they won't turn back. Like it or not, the manual is becoming antiquated much like our CD changers hence all 2013 Lexus's coming with a single CD rather than 6 changer. Does it suck? Sure, but change is inevitable. Even your high end exotics have ditched the 3-pedal set-up. BMW won't have them much longer either.

It's getting harder and harder to find a manual BMW in NA also. Most dealers only order a handful compared to the hundreds of cars they sell.

Nice find! It looks really nice there, but damn @ wheel gap.

*knocking us a little back to reality*
First few months of this thing will reveal top dollar pricing, lousy lease deals, and supply and demand issues.
I for one will watch from the sidelines until the second or third model year.

The CL members who have seen photos of the 3IS, does this rendering look anything like the real 3IS?
