The 250 gets the reprogrammed GS tranny. 350 didn't specify but I believe it's the semi-manual mode like the GS. Leave it in D, pull the "-" paddle and it activates the current gear limiter or for going down grades for engine braking. Put it in S and it will hold a gear unless you brake all the way to 0mph and it shifts itself to M1 (so F should continue to be the only one available with a real manual mode). I believe this 8-speed is similar to the 8-auto in the RX F-Sport

those pics make the car look kinda brutal. I hate how automakers are going to more narrow and taller designs. The front fenders are so tall and wheels are so small, they make the car look like a giant Toyota Echo. Profile reminds me of the long winded ES330.

Damn, another strike against the 3IS in my book

I basically want the car I have now, but with a bit more power, the IS-F transmission (or even a 6 speed version would be fine, but with a real M mode and quicker shifts), nice factory 5-spokes, genuinely air conditioned seats, and a modern audio/video/nav/etc system in it... and without several of the more recent (09+ styling cues)

Increasingly it sounds like I'm getting nothing of what I want except maybe the updated A/V system.

The more I see your posts the more I feel we are on the same page with what we want from this car..... Was really hoping for these updates, and with me putting 20,000 to 25,000 miles a year on my car (daily work commute) I can't make myself shell out the cash for an ISF.

Sure hope the 3rd Gen IS will offer PCS/Radar Cruise. I love it on my '06 350 and will not own another car without it. Worth the extra $ many times over. By now the technology has to even be better!

They haven't even offered it on the 2nd gen the last couple years... I'd love to see it back too, and maybe this time priced a lot more reasonably since Lexus got like 2.5 times the money for the same feature as what Infiniti wanted for it in the G I cross-shopped at the time.

I spotted the next gen IS earlier today. There were 2 of them, both with camouflage on them. One of them had a white cover that covered up the front grill and bumper, and the other one had the regular black cover we've seen from the spy shots before.

^^ congrats on the find. It's amazing how dowdy the camo makes the car look. Underneath it all lies an extremely aggressive design.
