All you guys complaining about your "slow" 250s! Didn't you hear? All you do is trade it in for a manual transmission and you'll feel like a jet fighter! Who needs horsepower?

Wait, 3IS is confirm to keep 306 HP? If that's true that is a huge disappointment...

GS did basically the same in the new gen, so not too surprising... though yeah, very disappointing.

Just about everything I've heard about the 3IS so far makes me NOT want one

the autoguide review said that the engine is a carryover but thats it, theres still the possibility of a power increase. Lexus never exactly said there wasnt, so heres to hoping. Reading this thread some peoples expectations are wildy unrealistic. 0-60 in mid-high 4s? Thats IS-F territory but you want it for the IS350 price?

Since you have a slow 250 like I do, a jump to the current 350 is allready huge.
Dont fool yourself, after all it's a luxury sports sedan...they wont make a bomb out of it untill the isf comes out.
A Jump to the current 350 is already huge<<< That is up to each own feeling. I almost trade up for IS F also not long ago but I really don’t want to have 5.0 liter for a daily commute.Im holding up to trade for the 2nd 350 because I believe the refresh design will always be huge improvement. Yes it did but not engine (Hoping that I'm wrong until the release date). Like everybody else in here would love to have something sportier than 2nd 350. Even whoever owns 2nd 350 here still want to have 3rd gen faster and sportier. The 2nd 350 is been out since 06 until now. It's time for an upgrade period. F sport version will be extra 6k to 7k so total price is over 50k. You really don’t want to spend that much for an engine is 8 year cycles. This is how Im expecting 3.7 or 3.8 with 330 to 345 horse 6 speeds but not 8 speeds (why would need 8 speeds LFA only got 6 speeds nobody want to paddle dance with 8 speeds) with engine and exaust intake tune like a real sport car. I dont mind 3.5 but at least more torque or horse. I was heart beating for a moment when I saw the new cluster. THat's killer gauges but definitely need a perfect match engine. Sorry I keep repeating myself all over again. Somebody here probably understands what I mean .

2014 - 2006 = 8 years, like I said almost a decade. Taking into account that Lexus won't do any updates on a car for 2 years it adds up to 10 years which is a decade.

I like it. Now they just need to make a 450 HP IS-F hardtop coupe.

That is because they had to otherwise its acceleration would suffer. It is still slower than the IS350 with its upped HP. They are probably relying on the 8 speed to give some performance advantage over the current in straight line at least. But it probably suffers in cornering.

Except for the headlights, I think it's starting to look like a Mitsubishi Lancer. Also, I really don't like, and hope doesn't end up in production, the stitching on the dash above the cluster or anywhere except the steering wheel. The high-end camrys have it and I really don't see any good in it.

Also, the added gears are supposed to help with the gas mileage, just like a 6 speed transmission probably does better than a 5 speed transmission. Still, unless the car has 400HP I see 8 speeds as an overkill.
