Hello everyone.. picked up this baby on Monday (11 Oct)… 21 IS 350 F Sport.. love the ML sound… bought it brand new.. I’m so excited to discover new things about this car.
Well, I've been around Club Lexus for a few years, but just picked up my first IS. 2014 IS350 F Sport with 42k miles on it. Very clean used vehicle.
The only issue on delivery was missing SD Card for the Navigation system. Called my local Lexus dealer and they can get me one for $210, but he asked "Do you really need it?" Probably not.
So now I'm searching aftermarket options for CarPlay. I had a basic GROM unit in my RX and their offering for the newer IS looks decent. More research.

Welcome aboard! Replacing the headunit is probably a good idea. From what I've seen the 2014 models tend to have issues related to the headunit failing. Enjoy the new car!
I'm new to this Forum. Richard from Indianapolis. Picked up my new IS 350 F Sport AWD. Iridium exterior, Flare Red with Ginsumi interior. Has pretty much all factory options including Dynamic Handling Package with Adaptive Variable Suspension and BBS wheels. Had Clear Bra PPF installed on front dog house, lights, A pillars and front roof line. Also had XPEL Plus nano-ceramic window tint applied. Its my DD and plan to keep it for many miles. My previous rides were a 2011 and 2015 Ford Taurus SHO with performance package with twin turbos. This IS 350 F Sport is not near as quick, but the quality and handling is far superior. It still has quite a bit of get up and go for a NA 3.5 -6 cyld. Would like to find a way to tune the motor and get more than the 311 HP out of it, but so far I have seen anything worthwhile that is available. Looking forward to learning a lot about this platform. BTW the wife drives an RX350.

Reason: took out license plate number
What’s up CL. I have a 2016 IS 200t and I am ready to start modifying it. It’s a white F Sport with black interior. So far I’ve added a duck bill spoiler and painted my calipers Sunset orange. 20” wheels on order and plan to do a muffler delete and intake.
When I saw this pic, I immediately wondered if you were in Texas - then saw that indeed you are. I've only seen these unusual step downs in Texas - San Antonio, to be exact. My mom broke her foot when she visited, just from walking in my garage.
Howdy folks. Had a car commit Hari Kari just before Thanksgiving, so had to scramble to find another driver's car. I picked up this 2015 IS350 RWD yesterday. I guess it's a base? Not an F-sport, which I'm fine with. 2015 IS350 RWD
It was tough having to buy another car in this economy right now, and also needing one pretty quickly. After considering some 3-series and even a 5-series or two, decided on this gal. I'm mostly digging it. I haven't owned an automatic as my daily since 1997, so still coming to terms with that, but the RWD is a nice change from my last car. Speaking of which, my previous vehicles included: 2013 VW GTI Autobahn, 2004 Mazda RX-8, 1991 Mazda RX-7. This is definitely the "nicest" car I've ever owned, and I'm enjoying that aspect of it. Stereo doesn't sound as good as the GTI, though. Not terrible. but the low end is a little undefined. I'm an audio engineer and often check my mixes in the car, so I may have to do something about that sooner, rather than later.

Congrats. Welcome to the Lexus family! Jealous of some of your previous vehicles... OK, I'll just say - the RX-7. Really neat cars.
Thinking of buying this.
How is the new 8spd trans? It's a 350 F sport w a few options. Prk assist, moon. Roof and some all weather mats and a cargo net.
Funny thing....sticker adds $500 for premium paint but I dont think this color is a premium charge (Is it the metallic stuff and not just the color???)
I had a 2016 RCF w all the trimmings and traded to an Audi S6 prestige.
I am not having a great pandemic....buisness is terrible
.Going to this 2022 F sport drops my monthly by $472 even though I'll be borrowing 57k on a 47k mrsp due to being upside down.... Plus the dealer is charging up charges for Tint, Etching. Body protect, nitrogen and other complete BS that I normally can argue out of but can't due to shortage. The Tint ....sure, but the rest I just see is being fleeced another $$700 to $1,000.
Around here Lexus customer service is the best there is and I do miss that.
So...I could do worse as I know the market sucks and some went over msrp even without negative equity....and this plus $472 savings a month isn't bad (though it will take 6 months to recover my down payment.)
I won't miss the 5.0 but I will miss the Marc Levinson in my RCF. I will not miss the maintenance as a set brakes on an RCF are pricey.
I might miss the larger back seats and refinement of the S6....but almost $500 a month in the pocket and lower maintenance cost (probably lower insurance) takes the sting out of that. I hope the 10 speaker in the 2022 is okay. (Sure it's fine) I do use the HUD so I'll almost definitely miss that, as well as the 360 cameras. Life is a compromise.
Not sure if this is right but it feels like a smart move.
I don't know what to do....I'm told things are gonna get worse before getting better.
I can't go much cheaper on the model as the loan to value tanks my interest rate with rolling over 10k and then the payments shoot up again and make it not worth it.
I can stick w my S6 another year and the gap of balance to value might close some (or maybe not).....don't know if the economy will allow me to hold on the planned 3 to 4 years.
Welcome @SleepyOldG , having owned a few German cars, I could understand wanting to come back to Lexus. The tint is something you'll probably appreciate being in GA - though, most do it aftermarket. If you can find an IS with the Mark Levinson system, I would highly suggest going for it... But if you don't, you're still getting an IS 350 after all. It may not have the raw thrills of an RC F with that car's sharper handling and V-8, but the 350 is really balanced and easy to drive fast on a back road. But, it's also super relaxed in everyday driving and reliable. Obviously a lot of us here are biased, but I also have a 330i in the garage - and compared to that BMW, the IS 350 has more character. Sure, the BMW is a little quicker and more efficient, but the IS feels more connected to the road and more solid.
