I noticed a video someone took of the new IS at the Canadian Internation Auto Show and while they were videotaping it, I saw a sticker on the passenger side window that read:

Prototype:
May not meet quality standards

I couldn't read all of it but that is what it basically said. So these cars at the auto shows are not the final design? (as far as interior details)

Are you sure it's the same article? Im not sure if the car featured on the cover is in the article you referenced online. I'm actually hoping it's not the same as some new/updated info would be nice. Those non f sport wheels look quite nice.

I picked up the magazine yesterday and can confirm it's the same article. When I got home to read it I was like man this sounds so familar like I've read it before sure enough. It's sorta deceiving cause the article inside the mag is the F-Sport model.

Oh well, at least it has a cool cover shot of the non f sport version.

Can't wait for the IS to dethrone the 3 series long record of car of the year.

where on earth did you hear that its 200lbs more? Mind you the 2013 GS weighed less than its predecessor, which the IS shares its chassis and parts with.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...t_first_drive/

A gutterless topside is a result of new laser welding that fuses the roof with the doors. The change produces a cleaner appearance and benefits the 0.28 coefficient of drag. (The LFA has a Cd of 0.31.) The welding, along with a varying thickness of body panels and use of advanced adhesives, adds rigidity, and, unfortunately, weight. The rear-drive 350 bulks up by roughly 50 pounds over its equally powerful predecessor (3700 pounds versus 3650 pounds with 33 percent of options installed).

He may have gotten it from the latest Car & Driver article where the author, in error I presume, specifically states that the 3IS has gained 200 pounds over the 2IS.
