Video Walkaround: 2014 Lexus IS & IS F SPORT

I'm bummed... I wanted another IS as my next vehicle but I'm quite unimpressed by Lexus' latest offering. The Interior I think is hideous and retains non of the clean, smooth lines of the 2IS. The steering wheel looks like absolute crap with buttons sticking out of it vs recessed buttons on pretty much every other Lexus vehicle. The technological enhancements and instrument cluster are an improvement, but that's about it. The rear of the car doesn't look bad, but there's nothing original about it. Looks like a Kia Optima mated with a BMW and this was the result (speaking to the tail lights specifically) same 306HP engine in a larger and undoubtedly, heaver car.

I was referring specifically to the rear end, the tail lights in particular with that comment. Either way, I'm not impressed by the car as a whole. Original or not, Lexus cut some serious corners with the interior IMO.

Huh? There is no way you can look at photos of the new IS interior and NOT say that it is a vast UPGRADE over the older IS interior.
Similar to the new GS vs older GS interior. It's not even a question. The overwhelming consensus is that the newer Lexi interior (new 4th Gen GS and LS facelift) are huge improvements over the previous generation/pre-facelift.
Based on the online HQ photos and the current trend in Lexus, bet your money that the new IS interiors will blow away almost all cars in its segment, and most certainly the older IS.

This is a normal trend with any new Lexus car or any new car model for that matter. Current owners of any model typically don't like the new design. For some it eventually grows on them, for others they will stick to what they have. It's something that always occurs in a cycle each time a new model comes out.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, she look really small in the front seat or maybe the car IS just got a lot bigger.

I appreciate that they've made a video to show the details and such of the 3IS, albeit most of it is known from reading this sub-section.
I'm instantly sold. Just need to wait for my lease to end, which will be in a couple of years =(.

Also there's a price to pay for being first on the block .... I would think these wont be leaving the showroom floors at anything but MSRP for the first few months. By 2017 the dealers will be selling them at invoice !!
