2014 Lexus IS 350 F SPORT in Nebula Gray Caught in the wild!

It's slooooowly growing on me, but it's still not a clean or honest look. There are some odd and gimmicky details that I believe bring down an otherwise nice body shape.
What's getting me the most is the area in front of the back wheel. The lower sill kinks in way too much, exposing the leading edge of the tire by about 25% (If someone can copy a pic above and put a red circle around the spot, I'd be grateful). The first thought is, "did Lexus run out of money for a full body?" Or something to that effect. It also gives the car a 4x4 look when more tire is showing. The lower areas of any sport sedan should be flared and filled out to give the car a hunkered-down look. The 2IS naturally flares out in this spot, making this all the more peculiar.
Still dig the modern interior and red leather option. Rims are hot too. Plastic rear bumper trim doesn't look as obvious here. I believe it's the camera angle, not the Nebula blending in.

Maybe the non f-sport model looks better and in another color. It seems like the new design need a special color to make it looks more ok. If you compare it to the IS-F posted in the tread the new IS just looks so wierd.

I'm not really feel the back end at all. I hope it'll grow nome one day or else I'm going to head straight for the GS or IS coupe if they don't have the same rear end. cant wait to see it on the road tho.

This doesn't seem so good that so many previous IS owners don't like new 2014 IS.

I still like the look of the 3IS, even though this grey is pretty staid.
I have never liked the Toyota/Lexus designers inclination to have the housing for the lights to protrude outside the surface area of the car. It was quite pronounced in previous Celicas, Solaras and ESes from the past, etc. And now I see it's made its way onto this 3IS.
See how the outside edges of the rear's light housings protrude outside the surface of the body? I don't like that. It makes the car look like it has warts or something. I like the lights to basically be flush with the body. To my eye, it just makes the car look cleaner.
I can get over it, because from most angles you can't tell. But from this dead-on rear shot, it's too noticeable.
