It seems that there's tons of feedback about it and mostly don't like it. Well, I like it. It's an innovative desige to have it separate from the headlight. Lookinf forward to this car on the roads.

I like the separate DRLs as well. The entire design looks like a huge win to me. the only area they fell flat is with the rear diffuser, imo. Just looks like too much flat black and a little cheap in pictures. Kinda strange since it seems like there is a lot of design detail throughout the rest of the car. Hopefully it comes across better when I see it in person, but regardless it is not likely to be a deal-breaker for me because I like the rest of the car so much.

is a copy from this
Same thing with 2013 The Kia Sorento, the headlights are a copy of the 2011 RX350. Everyone copies somthing at some point.

I'll admit though the separate DRL LEDs on the new IS will set it apart from mostly all other cars with the DRL LEDs inside the headlights.

I think they should have mounted a vertial LED strip in the lower bumper where they chose not to include fog lights. That would be sick. An LED strip mounted vertically that followed the lines appropriately.

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone should. Not everyone liked the 2nd Generation IS because some elements looked funny in comparison to the 1st generation. It's a normal trend with any new model launch. Same goes for the rest of the Lexus line up. Hate it or not, it's here to stay.
