these colors bring out the design, you can see a lot of subtle design pieces when you zoom into this picture... also, just found out that people ordering yesterday in japan were told of delivery in October... so already 4-5 months delivery after few days of sales :-)

lots of folks seem to be desiring that 300h fsport....
performance wise; how does it stack up to the 2014 is350 fsport?
If luxury/options were static between the two platforms... what is the draw to the 300h over the 350?

The 300h is not very strong.
0-60mph is stated at 8,2 seconds.
It is rated at 220 bhp. Midrange is a bit stronger and more instant than the 250 because of the electric motor.
The desireable thing about the 300h is the good fuel economy and relativly strong engine when you compare it to a prius or honda.
And it also looks good compared to other hybrids.
Also it is the only hybrid that can tow a (small) trailer. (max 750kg.)

They're so blinded by German/Diesel Kool-Aid they would never admit a Japanese hybrid is a better drive than their precious German turbodiesels.

Since when has autoexpress ever liked a Lexus? They even said that the GS' handling is worse than the BMW 5 series which is laughable to anyone who has ever test driven both cars.

Another, slightly better impression...

Autocar likes it all except for 300h engine:
Apperantly they also think it handles about the same as C class (what?) and better than A4, but I guess not 3 series?

The E-CVT’s manual mode, which should lock up when engaged to give you closer control of your speed, spends more time slipping than anything else. Compared to a good auto’ box it’s unresponsive and distinctly discouraging when you’re in the mood to tap into the IS’s performance reserves. I’m sure it must be delivered somewhere amongst all the revving and slurring, but you never really feel like you’re getting all of the available 220bhp of ‘system horsepower’ from the IS300h – even with your right foot flat to the floor.

Let them have their laughably noisy and questionably reliable turbo diesels. The IS300h is a dead silent high tech efficient car that more than suffices in performance for most people but also gets great fuel economy. I like 40mpg more than I like 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, because very rarely am I trying to get to 60 in 5.5 seconds but fuel economy is always a concern.
