The new IS arrives in Northern Ireland this Thursday, 20th, for viewing in showrooms. Presumably it arrives in showrooms across the UK this week. Deliveries are from 12 July.

When does it arrive in your region/country?

It's a bit cheeky, but if members could get to their showrooms a.s.a.p. after the car comes in and take pictures, we could compare specs and so on on a global basis!

For reference, I already have an order down for a black/black IS300h Lux [leather/nav], and expect delivery towards the end of July (black interiors are in a later batch).

Self healing paint? Isnt that only the silver? Besides, a word of caution. Self healing paint doesnt work apart from the S Class paint and even then, that was before MB quality went downhill so about 2003ish

There's an official unveiling July 11th at my local dealer. Not sure if this applies to the rest of Canada, so I'll let others chime in.

In Japan, they call it Self-Restoring paint and the durability lasts for 5-8 years. After that period, the clear coat will behave the same as regular paint. Extra care must be taken when performing the detailing. Compounding should be avoided. The self-restoring properties only work for minor scratches/swirls such as the ones caused during a car wash. Any hard objects such as key would still damage the clear coat.

Also in cold weather, it takes more time to see the clear coat gets restored.

And it is not restricted to silver because it is the clear coat that gets the self-restoring property.

Oh ok, so basically its a scam? Self healing paint? They said the silver on the GS is self healing, it had more swirls than my car!

why would it be a scam? it is clear coat that can extend slightly to cover small damages.

Nope that wasnt me but wth? How can paint heal itself? thats absurd. Fair enough if you had to use something on it but by itself? No chance

Just today!!! Saw them get off the truck (top right) as I was in for my RX servicing. What luck!
