Dont get the 2014" IS250, If you can save more money for the IS350 or get the 2013 model. Test drove both and 250 is very slow, if you are use to driving a much faster car.

OP. You might want to look at the 2014 IS350 F-Sport.

It has the best of both worlds : Power, handling and ride adaptability.

The IS350 F-Sport comes with intelligent adaptive suspension :
adaptive in 2 ways--
1) you can set to "Normal" for a comfortable ride or to "Sport" for a firmer more dialed in sporty ride.
2) if it is anyway similar to the GS350 F-Sport adaptive suspension, this suspension will be intelligent ie it will not stay at the pre-set damping rate but will continually vary the damping rate to suit road conditions as well as for vehicle manoeuvers eg when taking a corner, the outside dampers will firm up more than the inside dampers so as to reduce body roll during cornering.

Incidentally, only RWD IS350s come with the ISF 8 speed auto.

Thanks natnut. I'm learning that there aren't any 2013 IS350. It seems most people want the 250. There's an F-sport down at Longo Lexus -- maybe I should check it out. I was thinking of this config though:

Nebula gray Pearl (probably) RWD
Black Interior
Nav with Mark Levinson Audio
Luxury Package w/gray wood
Radar Cruise Control
Trunk mat
Cargo net
Rear shade

I've never heard the Levinson system though -- don't know how much better it is than the Lexus. I have a Lexicon system now with Logic 7 -- so maybe I'm spoiled. Are there any holes in my list above i.e. anything that is a waste of money as a package?

Had the SH-AWD Acura -- be aware there's a weight gain with AWD with the Lexus probably too.

Thanks!

If you are referring to a '14 350 then the Luxury Package will not be available for F-Sport and odds are the Radar Cruise will probably result in the need to special order. It also appears that the Rear Sunshade may not be available in all regions either for F-Sport. The only other options are Variable Gear Ratio Steering ($400) and Blind Spot Monitor ($600).

Hes ordered an IS250 F Sport. Personally, the IS250 is fine, its got enough power to pass cars. Just learn how to drive it. It needs a lot of revving but if driven properly, its fine.

!

I've owned both a IS250 and IS350.
Believe me,get the IS350.
The 250's 0-60 in 7.3 seconds is sloooow...
Or wait till next year when the rumored quicker than the '14 250 4 cyl turbo will debut.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experience. I guess I'll have to wait until a variety show up in showrooms and then do a few test drives. Glendale Lexus said they can't sell them until July 1st anyways.

If the IS 300h were available in the western hemisphere, hands down my money would have gone towards an F Sport model of it. I'd have my cake and eat it too.

since the 250 f-sport doesn't get the suspension, what exactly dos it offer? Is it just a cosmetic upgrade, or is the suspension different?

The 250 does get an F-Sport tuned suspension like the 350 but without the Adaptive variable control (which stiffens it further when in Sport+ mode).

You say this with confidence while being fully aware of what SoCal roads are like? The Acura SH-AWD (stiff suspension) was one of the most fun cars to drive -- in Oregon -- down here in LA it was just painful. The ruts, the potholes, the broken pavement from the shifting earth -- you sure an LA resident should buy the F-sport as a daily driver and call it a day? Because a teeth grinding daily drive could get old quick. I feel like some of the people on this forum have another car for daily driving. I may be wrong -- but I don't have room for 2 cars.
