First, thank you all for providing a deep wealth of knowledge on here. I'm brand new but learned more in 24 hrs of reading here than I did in school 
I'm looking at a remaining 2014 IS 350 F sport, $49,400 MSRP. Aside from 2015's being on the ground (at least in Florida) this particular one has 4,300 dealer demo miles on it. I won't end up buying it so it's of little concern to me, especially if I can use it to drive a stronger deal. Would welcome anyone's input on:
1. Suggested offer, given the mileage. $43,000 ?
2. Anyone have Sept 2014 27 month residual and MF for 12K miles/yr?
I would only be putting down first/tax/fee etc ($1200 ballpark).
I'd like to go at the dealer with a strong take it or leave it offer but not sure what that should look like given the parameters above. Thanks in advance for any thoughts/insight.

What has worked for me and a a lot of folks is blasting out an email to as many dealers you can that are located within your acceptable buying distance. You can use the responses you get to determine which dealers are willing to work with you and which are not. When you get down to two or three dealers, you can start working over the phone - work only with the Internet Departments -preferably the Internet Mgr. You will get frustrated trying to work with the floor sales people.
You should be able to land a great deal on a 2014 - let us know how it's going.

I don't think you can go to a dealer and play the take it or leave it game. Unless you have a check of about $43k, then that would be too easy.

Hope I'm replying in the right place. Thanks for suggestion. Turns out dealer w/ the 2014 w/ 5K demo miles (MSRP $49,400) would only go as low as $47,000, which I abruptly laughed at. However, I gave a shot at a different local dealer, though they didn't have 2014's left, I feigned that I had a phenomenal deal elsewhere and would he 'match my 2015 #'s'. I took delivery today.

had to dust off my old username to post and say this thread is very useful. ive leased a couple hondas before but not in this smart manner. used to own a 2002 is300, missed that car dearly ever since i sold it.

2015 IS350 residuals are around 69% for 27 mo, 68% for 36 mo, 56% for 48, if I recall correctly.
Plus in Chicago, not only is there a 9.5% sales tax, but if you live in the city, you get to pay an 8% "use tax" as well, even on lease.
I went in for a lease on a 2015 IS350 F sport, AWD, BSM, no ML, lease payments(27/36/48mo even) with MF at .00135 (even at .00085) with negotiated sticker around $48500(msrp on 2015 is 51k+) is nowhere near the 400s, more like the very high 500s/low-mid 600s. That use tax alone is $50/mo of the payments if you roll in all taxes and fees.

Was able to come to a deal on a lexus is 350 2014 at lexus of englewood in New Jersey. Been without a car for about a year due to my infiniti 37s coupe getting totaled in an accident which was not my fault. here are the details

first time buyer ...
this was really helpful because I'm considering leasing a 2015 IS... 250 F Sport AWD. i plan to make the purchase before the holidays and thought this was a pretty good time to lease. I have noticed that many of the offers advertised won't fit my criteria because I'm going for more mileage and hopefully a well equipped ride. my questions are
1. is this a good time to buy?
2. when should i agree to credit, when im still in the "buying negotiation," or when we've switched over to actual lease offers? this may be a point of weakness for me since I've never owned or leased a vehicle before so I'm anxious to see how well my credit score holds up (698 right now...paying down all credit cards to hopefully see improvement)
3. only two germain dealerships in my area...I have put our internet quotes on the base model 250...should I use these to get some sort of a better purchase price? in all reality with maintenance I would buy locally.
4. any other advice or suggestions to get the best price and interest rate would be greatly appreciated

yes, never put money down to "rent".
never say you are leasing until you negotiate the sticker.
never say you want to lease anything but the minimum miles offered (10k).
never say you want any options.
never say you want a rare color combo. chose the most common.
follow these steps and you will reach a bottom dollar price for the car, base model, to buy, stripped of areas of addition profit. now begin lease talk @ zero down.
from there you could say, could you offer this monthly rate for 12k miles? if not, why is the premium $x a month? could you do it for y? same goes for navigation, and other packages. these negotiation tactics will allow the dealership to open up their komono. you will be able to see each marginal cost they charge per month, with more opportunities of negotiation to minimize their profit margin for every box you check off. once youve reached your final "build" you could take a step back. if youve done a poor job negotiating, fall back and say, ok now my total sticker is % more than where we started. could you give me a monthly price at the same % nomination or better. then you have a final deal....................rather than, hey, im redraptor, im looking to lease a is350 awd f sport, at 15k miles. ever heard of red on red? its sexy as hell, i gotta have it, gimme a price? 700/mo? ok, i have no idea how you came to that price, so i do not know where your bottom line is to negotiate any further. (just teasing)
