Price Paid for an IS250/350?

How is it deceiving?
And when you say UNDER invoice, we don't know what invoice price is for the cars, we can only guess. Soooo... We can't give you feedback there.
But 11.5k off msrp, I'm assuming the car is priced at ~45k? With tax+fees (say 10%), I'm guessing the OTD for this car would be 36-37k?
That's pretty good imo.

or may include dear add-ons like tint or data dots or other BS. A dealer can make better deals relative to MSRP if the car has many high-markup options. Dealers talk to consumers in terms of MSRP to make deals look better, but dealers use Invoice to gauge how much room they have to bargain.
A few examples:
F-Sport exhaust Invoice: $1050, MSRP: $1600: markup: 52%
Illuminated door sills: Inv: $280, MSRP: $425: markup: 52%
F-sport package: Inv: $2905 MSRP: $3155 markup: 8.6%
So if you bought a base model IS and I bought a fully loaded IS with lots of high margin options and the dealer both sold us cars at invoice price, I would be able to say that I scored a better deal off of MSRP by a few percent but as far as the dealer is concerned it was the same deal.
That's why if you compare invoice pricing you are comparing apples to apples because it takes the details of the car out of the equation. That's why when I talk to dealers I get them to give me pricing under invoice rather than get wrapped up in the process of finding a specific car and then trying to work out a deal.

So youre saying they're giving you new is200t for what essentially a new loaded civic would cost..bought mine last summer and got 3000 off msrp..the prices you claim you're being offered are insane..less than a year and they're giving them away...let's see the actual numbers and options involved..

I'll post specifics once I've made or given up on the deal, I don't want anyone to poach it... But I'm telling you, search your local dealer inventory for 2016s and see what kind of deal they'll make. They are anxious to get rid of them!

I got a 2016 IS in Jan. 2016 msrp @ 49.5k, got it for 47.5k otd (10% tax). This roughly is about 6.5k discount.

how are you guys starting these negotiations? looking at a '17 is350 f sport w/ the ML audio here in california.
w/ my past cars, i've always gone through truecar, but none of the lexus dealers in the area participate in it. after expanding my search radius, it's a couple thousand off.

I will PM you shortly with my salesman's info and what deal he might do for you.
If you go through Edmunds or TrueCar or any other website, the dealer ends up paying those websites at least $300 (from what I've heard) for the lead. So my logic is anything they pay for the lead is less money they can take off your deal. True Car and services like that are probably fine if you are just worried about getting ripped off, but not if you're trying to get an optimal deal.

yea 40k OTD, I guess I thought I did well on the negotiation because I had looked on random forums before and saw what people paid and thought I got a pretty good deal.

MSRP: 43030
Invoice: ~40073 (I don't know the invoice price for the accessory pkg that came with the car so this is an estimate)
Selling price: 37,850

A general rule of thumb my dad told me. If you pay 2-3k less than MSRP OTD (which means tax+fee included), you got a pretty good deal.

I've been searching dealership online here in SoCal for remaining 2016 inventory. Found a base IS200t with premium + nav (msrp $43,000) and talked to a dealership. Lowest they would go was $35,500 + tax. Decided to hold off. The lack of factory incentives on the 2016's is disappointing. Will keep looking.

Leased a Crafted Line 2015 IS 250 Fsport w/ 25100 miles and CPO designation.
Traded in a 2010 Jetta for 3k (fair given condition) and didn't fight price of $35914 OTD price including rim & tire, wear & test and simonize in & out coatings. Approx $2100 in extras on the sticker and included 6.7% tax.
Money factor was high, but due to used lease apr of 6.4% which multiple dealers told me was fixed for used Lexus.
End of the day I'm at $440/mo w 12k miles per year and what seems to be all conseveable protections. Also 4 new tiers and they kicked me $150 for window tint.
Good experience at Lexus of Watertown in Boston Mass working with Mike P.
