What kind of MPG #'s are you guys getting?

Hey cFoo, not sure if you're in the Lower Mainland, but i'm commuting in heavy traffic each day from Richmond to Burnaby, and consistently getting about 12L/100km. On the open road I get between 9 and 10L/100km. And I drive in Sport mode in the city and Sport+ on the highway.
So I'm not sure how you're getting such poor mileage? I am not driving mine gently, and it's also a 350 AWD (F-Sport).

So, the truth is the 350 can get pretty ugly mileage when you're stuck in traffic.

Okay I need an explanation for this.
2014 IS350 F Sport
I drive 90% city every week since I bought the car
9k mileage on it and average mpg is 13.7
13.7 average mpg! How am I getting this low number? I don't understand how you city drivers are getting around those higher numbers.
I also drive in normal mode 99% of the time
I live in San Francisco, is that why?

Do you drive through hilly terrain a lot? Do you sit in traffic?
I reset my gauge at every fill-up and I don't recall seeing it below 19 since I got the car.
Even my last car with the same size engine w/5AT was around 19-20.

Yes,location has 90% to do with it. The people getting 20+ mpg probably doesn't live in a place as populated. I get about 18-19 in the LA area but mine is a 250

I drive on either ECO/Normal on work days (mon-fri) and I drive 4 miles a day each way, downhill going to work and uphill going back home. I put it on Sport/Sport+ on weekends.
Avg MPG: 16-19 depending on how aggressive I drive on the weekends.
PS This is in San Diego, CA.

Yes. As Tea said and as I have said many times in this topic, location means more than anything else when it comes to MPG #s.
Even if I mashed my pedal WOT on Sport+ non-stop I still couldn't get your MPG. BUT a previous car of mine was getting 14-18mpg in D.C./VA with 95-100% city driving. When I moved here that same car started getting 25-27mpg.
Thick traffic + humidity will tank MPG. Short drives (2 miles or less) are also horrible.

We leave the car in normal mode and over the first 5500 miles averaged 23.9 (according to the computer) in mixed driving, 30% freeway.
We just got back from a 1000 mile weekend trip to California and averaged 32.0 for the whole trip, probably 97% freeway averaging 70-75 mph. By comparison, my SL500 would have got about 24 for the same trip and my F-150 about 18 mpg. So we saved a little money on gas

I finally got some highway miles on my car this weekend, with a 200 mile round trip. It was mostly freeway driving, with some serious stop and go traffic on the way out, but still more 65-75mph driving than anything else. This is my best mileage to date, as expected. This is on a 350 AWD with 6200 miles on the clock.
