I think a lot of us can agree that if 80s tech was the most efficient it wouldn't be replaced. Change is difficult for a lot of us especially when you're used to certain things.

Able to confirm that the smart card key does work on my Canadian 2015 IS 350. Part no. was 89904-53511. FCC ID was different between factory fob and the card key. Local dealer wasn't sure if part would be compatible and were too expensive ($750 CAD for card, key insert, program and cut). I ordered the card and key from a Texas Toyota dealer for $240 USD. They wouldn't ship to Canada so I had it forwarded here using ReShip. Ended paying $360 CAD for fob, key, shipping and customs. Programming was super simple using TechStream with a Mini-VCI cable. All that's left is to take the blank for cutting.

This will be super convenient for me since I use ID cards at work and a keypad lock for the house. Highly recommended upgrade.

nobody's 100% reliant on current "smart" keys. in fact, they're commonly hacked with stuff out of china these days. with Face ID on the iphone, that could tie into the security i'd think.

and like i said, BMW and Tesla already offer similar smart access. and if anything, BMW/Tesla superior to lexus w/ tech. so anyone can do it. it's just industries tend to be slow to adapt, particularly in japan

Got all excited until I saw they were going for over $250 on ebay. I'd never buy one for that price. Maybe a cheap used one will come around some day

Are these credit Card keys compatible with the 4GS ( 2015 GS350)? It wasn't clear from the thread, since it seems to work great with the IS350...

You can try what worked for me. Check online through the dealerships using your vin number.

How do we find out our FCC ID for our fob keys? I have a 2018 Lexus is 300. Will this work for my car. I am in Canada. How do we lock our doors without the fob button? Touch the door handle square? That's inconvient during our winter time.

Cool tokens

Hi Sir,
do you still have the token, i would like to try the smart card key which
i bought on the internet, it should be used before.
so, according to your statement, i just use techstream by using reset immobilizer and all my original two key and bought the used key.
will it be succeed ?

thanks.

QUOTE=350phi;10024556]Just got mine working.
purchased a used smart card (HYQ14CBB) from a user on here. added a new battery, use techstream to reset my immobilizer and added all key fob and it works great.
For the record, my two fob are: HYQ14FBA but my smart card is HYQ14CBB. FCCID does not need to match. Being that the card was used and locked to another car, I had to do the reset method using a token with techstream.
used card $60
usb cable with techstream $18
battery $5
blank key blade $10 (will get it cut soon)
5 tokens $30 (ended up using two tokens to complete it. unknown software failure 14mins into the count down) https://www.weboctopus.nl/lexus-scio...calculator.php gave instant result, no need to wait for code like others.

If programming new, it's simple with techstream and needs no pass-code token.
I have three spare token willing to let go for a price. PM if needed. code never expires.[/QUOTE]

I have a 2014 IS350 and a 2014 RX350 can I program both cars keys to ONE card ?? this would be awesome and I would consider it if this would work. Thanks
Yes the card does not have buttons therefore you need to touch the door handle and trunk button to Open/Close. I do have Lexus remote start so it would not work with this card key (no buttons).

Hard to say this is shocking. Only had my car one month, but have come to realize you cannot trust anything these dealerships say. Find one parts or service person you can trust and stick with them, if you can find such a one. Whether it's suggesting $800 worth of needless fluid changes or telling me they can't program my signals, CL is a far better source of factual information.
