By that I mean when in nav the pointer is free to move through the screen but when in a screen with limited options, the controller settles in and resists movement to the next selection then clicks or settles in to that option. As an electrical engineer this blew my mind, I wish I had it on my CT.
2013 was the first year for that style mouse. Any of the new remote touch controllers that you press straight down to select, as opposed to pushing the enter button on the side of the controller to select will be like that.

Thanks for the info. It's a shame I won't even be able to retrofit one. Oh well I guess I can can get it on my next car.... 10 years from now.

took me a while to figure this out, but when the car is in reverse and I'm backing out of a parking space, it starts beeping repeatedly if it detects a car approaching from either side. I've tested this and it will detect movement a long time before a car comes into your field of vision. Saved my a$$ a time or two.

Yea..that's pretty cool.
It's particularly useful when you can't see over/thru those large SUV's & trucks parked next to you.
You're no longer forced to backup almost blindly until you can see past them.

I noticed it starts beeping even before the car or person shows up on the backup camera.
I wonder if there's another sensor for it somewhere.

It's the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system, and it's pretty cool. I believe it uses the Blind Spot Monitor sensors located in the rear bumper. Info here:

About the sound volume. There's a setting controlling of each source has its own level, or all has the same.
It's the bottom one on the display where you select surround sound. If the setting is "off", each source has its own level.

I didn't know that. I'll try that as it's been bothering me.

I've yet to see the sensor going off while backing up with people crossing by, maybe your car has parking sensors that's going off not the rear cross traffic alert.

It's been too far away to be the parking sensors. And the acoustic warning is different when it's the cross traffic alert compared to the parking sensors. It's beep-beep-beep .... beep-beep-beep.

Agreed. Mine has gone off for pedestrians walking by.

Interesting...mine never goes off with pedestrians. Were they walking from far away and walking fast?

I've noticed that, with pedestrians, they have to be closer than another vehicle would before the system notices them. However, if at someplace like a grocery store, they're pushing a cart they will get picked up from further away.

I have, however, had a time or two where it has not picked up a pedestrian, so I never rely on it for this purpose.
