Cold Air Intake ?
#2
the stock airbox is already cold air, it has ducting to pull air outside the engine bay. You can get the Joe Z pipe to replace the rubber hose from the box to the throttle body.

Rastaracer was able to install a greddy intake for the 2IS on his 3IS but I dont know if the Fsport intake will fit

rastaracer installed the greddy, i installed the takeda, JoeZ's and F-Sports's are pretty cool if you want to keep that stock box look but replace the rubber tubbing with something more resistant to heat.
In any case, you are better off making this upgrade. Same engine and luckily for us, the holes in the engine bay for some of the bolts are compatible so any 2IS intake will fit I'm sure. I have a DIY where i explain the only downside I ran into was the hoses losing their holding harness points and they just hang loose now. I believe others have ziptide them to their intake but I haven't. I presume the upcoming intakes will address that issue but I didn't want to wait...

the JoeZ intake pipe produces 5-6 rwhp for $125, going to be really hard to beat that. If you go for a short ram you might even be losing power because its sucking in hot engine air

JoeZ = Dyno proven 5whp
All other short rams = You can lose or gain anywhere between -5 and +5 hp. You wont feel any difference tho, thats why I went for a Takeda intake for my 2IS for sound.
You need to ask yourself what you prefer: 5whp and a quiet intake? or a loud intake with potential to lose or gain 5hp

Just like k&n claims to have a +15hp increase from their intakes? How is that possible? It's sucking in hotter air.
Don't believe everything you see. I dynoed my 2IS with full exhaust and intake and only did 180whp and 186 lb of torque.
