Default IS AWD vs. BMW xDrive vs. Audi Quattro, etc.

I am curious about how the all wheel drive system works mechanically in the new IS versus its competitors. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Thanks

My understanding of it is that the BMW and Audi systems are more advanced. With their systems, power can basically be delivered more individually to any of the four wheels while the Lexus system can transfer power to the front pair (equally) or back pair (equally).

Torque vectoring is only offered in BMWs with Dynamic Performance Control and Audi with Sports Differential. Your typical 3 series or A4 has a similar AWD system as the IS.
