How to: Changing Lane Change Flasher from 3 to 5 or 7
#62
I tried to change mine multiple times last night to no avail. I think after carefully watching the video and re-reading the instructions i realised what i did wrong. I believe that due to having a Right Hand Drive car (i am from Australia), the wiper stalk and turn signal stalks are in reverse positions than what you would find in a US Left hand drive car.
This would mean that the very last step where you click the turn signal stalk DOWN (Left turn) once to confirm, i would have to click UP (Left turn) to confirm....
anyone with a Right hand drive completed this and confirm?

Just an update on my situation, anyone with a Right Hand Drive IS, my thoughts were indeed correct.
The last step you will need to push one notch left (UP), not right (down) as per the video. Basically do the opposite for the last step,

What worked for me (originally posted by doodlebug but made some edits highlighted in bold):
1.) Ignition off, doors closed
2.) Hold the wiper switch in the full up position. (this is the wiper off position)
3.) While holding the wiper switch in the full up position, turn the IG on. (two presses of the start/stop switch)
4.) Hold wiper switch in the full up position for 6 seconds
5.) Move the wiper switch down one "click" or "notch", hold for 6 seconds (one notch up from neutral position)
6.) Move the wiper switch back to the full up position, hold for 6 seconds
7.) Move the wiper switch down one "click" or "notch". hold for 6 seconds (same position as step 5)
8.) Move the wiper switch back to the rest position (neutral)
If this was done correctly, the right turn signal will flash once.
To adjust how many flashes you want, you change the intermittent wiper speed switch. P1 starts with the speed switch all the way at the bottom, P4 will be the top speed. This is found on the wiper stalk.
P1: 3 blinks
P2: 5 blinks
P3: 7 blinks
P4: Function turned off
Set the intermittent wiper speed to the desired setting.
Use the Turn Signal stalk and push down like you want to activate the intermittent left turn signal, the flashers should activate
If the turn signal blinks once, you change it to the "3 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks twice, you changed it to the "5 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks three times, you changed it to the "7 flashes" setting
If the turn signal blinks four times, you turned the function off.
Once this is done, cycle the ignition switch off, and back on, and it should be changed.
