Just bought an IS350- what a beautiful car.
Impossible to find any shortcomings with the vehicle except the lack of Nav system flexibility and weak applications. Once I sorted through what the various sources (A/V, USB and Aux) actually deliver then loaded a few of the EnForm Apps, I discovered that my iPhone is significantly more powerful, way more intuitive and just easier to use.
The Bluetooth connection for Audio from the iPhone is great. Unfortunately you need the USB cable, between an iPod and the car, to get cover art- my iPhone was intermittent. This would indicate they have the ability to provide both audio and video from the iPhone to the Nav screen.
You can download all your iPhone contacts and by utilizing the "on board voice recognition system" gain access to these contacts- so the computer systems on board are smart and they have memory.
With as much as we do with our smart phones, as intuitive as they have become and as familiar as we all are with them - why not bring that power into the vehicle?
Does anyone have an idea why all iPhone Apps are not visible on the Nav Screen?

I agree for the most part. The "apps" system in it's current state is mostly worthless. As pointed out in another thread, the only one I find useful is the one that locates the cheapest gas station. I haven't bothered do mess with Pandora and such, but I suppose if you could do your skips/etc with the mouse it might be useful. As it stands right now though, it takes no effort to just hit play on your phone and move along.
