I go big or go home and with winter a pretty normal occurrence in my city I run blizzacks WS80 and so far they are performing very well.

Haven't had a ton of snow yet, but absolutely no problem on our first 5cm snow fall this week.
Excellent tires. Without a doubt, the stock Bridgestones are garbage. I might change them early just to get rid of them. Can't believe Lexus would put such crappy tires on the IS.

Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum. Just a quick question about snow tires, I traded my 2010 IS 250 RWD for 2016 IS 300 AWD and I'm wondering if my set of snow tires for my previous car will fit the 2016 model?

They should if they're both stock. Pretty sure they're 17" for both. You can take a look at both tires and see if they're the same size. Not sure if the 2010 is a staggered setup though. Read the 3 numbers off your tires and see if they match on both cars. They're xxx/xx/xx.

Blizzak ws80 and they make a high pitched hum on the freeway. First time Ive ever had an issue with Blizzaks...going to take it in for alignment check.

I thought I found Nokians that were studded in 275/30/19 for the rear.

I would really ally feel better running studs in the winter, while I traveled over the Santiam pass once or twice a month. If possible. The continental extreme contacts did amazing last year, however, they are trashed now, in the front. Since the alignment and camber was off so much, two of them were trashed.

Any ideas?

I dont want to get a set of new wheels for winter. And I sold my stock wheels. The IS 350 f sport AWD is staggered.

This is limits my choice, obviously.

275 is way too wide for winter! You're literally gonna float on the snow... Why go that wide?

What are the specs of your front and back wheels?

Heck, it might come in cheaper to buy some 17" wheels and tires than going this wide! Tire performance would also be way better!

You can go 7 to 8 inches wide for the wheels. I'm running 17x7 +35 RWCs.

Ditto. I always put winter tires on one under sized rims. For my present RX Hybrid, it'll be 18" Taller rubber dig into deep snow better to get more traction.
Also keep in mind total diameter does not go off much from OEM set up to make sure speedo reading is within tolerance..

Default Anyone have Yokohama W Drive V905 snow tires?

Just hit a nasty pothole and had to change all 4 tires as the tread was quite worn, so wanted them to match. My indie could not get hold of 4 Michelin Alpins quickly which I had ,but spoke highly of the V905's which were just installed. They seem great, any one else running these? I have a square 18 inch setup for winter btw.

Only thing that beats Blizzaks WS models, is Nokian Hakkas. But for the price the Hakkas generally aren't worth the money. Personally I wouldn't spend money on anything other than those two.
