Thanks guys. We're allowed to use studded but I'm worried about the noise and "fun factor" (although the WS80 aren't fun to drive... I'm guessing studded tires would be worse). I guess I'll stick with the WS80's.

I'm going with these bad boys this winter:
ContiWinterContact TS830 P

We'll see how they do.

I have only owned Blizzaks and LOVE them! Studded would be better, but I've heard that the noise and vibration is unbearable. My WS80's are noisy enough... don't need to make it worse. If you need something better than Blizzak, but without studs, Nokian R2's are one of the best but costs a LOT more. My coworker went with the Nokian R2 for his Subaru Legacy and says they are the best he has ever owned.

I got a nice set of Pirelli Ice Zero FRs and look forward to installing them this weekend. Those are cost-effective with good reviews. Maybe you can consider Gislaved NordFrosst 200 too.

Don't over look Continental tires. Blizzak once tread starts wearing it loses traction noticeably. My son drives Bimmer M3 in summer, in winter he switches to 328iX with Nokian tires. As an old senior I am just happy with Michelin Xice II on RX hybrid(soon to be replaced by MDX hybrid to be happier) in winter.

My priority is deep snow traction because it's a RWD, that's why I'm aiming for the WS80's. Unfortunately they're not the most fun to drive.

You must have LSD? With good set of tires, it is possible to drive in snow unless you over do it, LOL!

So do any of you have the Blizzaks on the f-sport wheels? Is there any reason besides lack of ability to rotate that I should not put winter tires on the fsport wheels?

Hint: If I can use the f-sports for the winter that means some fresh new wheels and rubber for the summer so the fsports can be winter wheels.

It's a 2014 model so no LSD.

Everybody here almost talked me out of running my F Sport wheels through the winter, but after seeing this I couldn't give them up. How do you like the Blizzaks? Debating between these and the Pirelli Winter Sottozero

What does it mean to have square setup for the tires? Also, what benefits do I get going 17 vs 18? Also, what size should I consider if they're going on my existing 2016 IS350 F-Sport AWD rims. If I decide to buy new set of rims for the car, how do I go about buying them? Do I just search for 17 or 18 inch rims and buy tires accordingly?

square just mean same spec all round. e.g. 225 all four tires. Stock setup is 225 and 255 I believe.

for winter I run 225 square meaning all 4 tire is the same spec (this way I can rotate them during the next winter season) They are WS80 Blizzacks. and I have no issue at all, other than you have to be careful with the backwheels as they are more exposed for curb rash

You don't need to buy wheels.

I've got a set of Blizzak WS80's on the original staggered F-sport wheels on my 350 AWD.

They are SICK! First time with winter tires but I drove the car into a foot of powder the other day in the parking lot of Mt Snow in vermont. Sunk and was stuck. Turned off traction control and instantly drove out with no hesitation. The jeep guy was impressed.

I've got a new set of Velgen wheels in the basement to use for spring/summer wheels when the time comes.

I believe I input the car into TireRack and bought the recommended sizes. They fit perfect.
