Kind of off topic, but has anyone with AWD driven these cars in the snow with summer tires? Is it doable? I have a FWD beater car I can rely on this winter, but just wondering how bad it would be with the AWD in the snow without buying winter tires

I'll have to take that into consideration. I had a 2014 RWD ATS with the 3.6L before this car. It had Bridgestone Driveguards on it, and I was able to drive in the snow if I was careful. But those are all seasons...

Just got a 2018 IS350 AWD F-Sport and was wondering what size snow tire everyone is using?
1. OEM Front 225-40-18
Rear 255-40-18
2. Front & Rear 225-40-18
3. Front and Rear 225-45-17
4. Other size
On my previous cars I've always downsized the tire. However, I'm now seeing a few articles that say u should not downsize because the car is calibrated (ABS, EPS, Traction control, etc.) to the contact patch of the OEM size
The dealer recommends option 1 or 2.
Thanks.

Hi all, thanks for the replies.
Will probably stick to the OEM size 225/40/18 (front) 255/35/18 (rear).
Looking at the Blizzaks WS80 and the Pilot Alpin PA4.
Will probably go with the Blizzaks.

Keep in mind that the Pilot Alpins will drive much better on dry roads, so if you do any commuting these are a better option in my opinion.

I finally decided that It's probably best (for me) to get the tires that would handle the worst case winter scenario - deep snow and icy roads.

Will any of the non-f sport IS250/300/350 wheels fit on an IS350 F-sport to be used for winter wheel/tire setup? I frequently see stock wheels being sold for a good price and would like to use them for winter tires if possible
