I'm in Toronto as well. I went with Alpine PA4. Way better on dry surfaces than the Blizzaks.

I think you only got your car this year. So, you never had it last winter. Right?

I've had both brands on other vehicles though so...also I've got them installed now and they ride practically like stock (which is what I wanted, none of that floaty mess you get with Blizzaks).

What do you mean by floaty mess? But, did you go on deep snow with michelins yet? I heard it is only good for light snow.

I've used both in deep snow, ice, cold but dry conditions, etc. Blizzaks are great for deep snow but have a very soft compound so they are mushy on dry roads (hence the floaty feeling at higher speeds). There's always a trade off with winter tires, better snow performance comes with worse driving dynamics. Better driving dynamics comes with not as good deep snow performance. The PA4s strike a very good balance. We get colder weather for a good 5 months out of the year, I would rather a winter tire that sacrifices very little in driving dynamics while still providing a good option (especially if you have AWD).

I use the Blizzaks but they clear the roads pretty quickly here. Haven't had any issues the times I've driven with snow still on the ground.

I stayed with the staggered oem sizing. I can't rotate them, but this one set of tires will last my entire lease so I don't really care. If I was planning to keep the car longer I would have bought a dedicated set of rims and a square set up for tires.

I've bought a set of TS860s recently, with a set of 17" rims.
As I heard TS860 is the upgraded version of the TS830. It reached highly recommended results
at the ADAC winter tire comparison tests. The test included different conditions like dry, wet, snowy, icy.
Here's the link: ADAC test (in german)
The dimensions are different, but IMHO there's no significant difference in performance between the different sizes.

This is how it looks:

Thanks, did you ever use continental tires for winter before?

I have a set of Michelin X-Ice XI3 on Niche Misano wheels that were awesome in both snow and ice. They’re for sale – PM me for info.
