I live in Toronto with a 2018 IS300 AWD and I would never drive in the winter without snow tires. We don't get a ton of snow most winters, but given the low temps, icy roads etc.....it's a must imo.
They’re really nice. I’m looking for something just like that for summer time to replace the factory F-Sport rims. Do rims like that with a lot of spokes or whatever it’s called have a style name you can search?

These are what I got for winter.
I don't know much about rims. I got them at discount tire same day, they had everything in stock and I thought they looked good for winter rims. I wish I took a look at the marketplace on here though. I saw some nice sets on there. Those are really nice! Post some pics soon, would love to see how they look on the car
Gonna be a ***** to clean, but I do like the multi spoke protection from flat spots due to pot holes.
I know, they really are lol, I didn't think about that, luckily, I have chemical car guys detailing stuff including these
I got both sizes, great for cleaning the barrels and those tight spaces
Looks good. I'm also considering putting four 235/40R18 tires on original staggered wheels (18x8 front and 18x8.5 rear). Seems like the 1.3% to 1.5% speedo error is the only con with this setup. But if we don't care about the 1.3% to 1.5% too much, this is not bad actually.

My winter set is 225/40/18 all around. Had no issues this last winter. The GTA sees such little snowfall now I didn't see any reason to justify downsizing to 17s.
Edit: thanks to the mod for merging this into the original thread, no wonder I didn't find it.
Location: Central Connecticut
Year: 2015
Model: IS350 F-Sport RWD (open diff rear)
Tire: Federal Himalaya WS2 (studdable, but no studs)
Size: 225/45/17
Wheels: 2is 17x8s ET45 (square)
Current Pressure: 38psi F 38psi R
Pros:
Aggressive tread pattern, grips really well in the snow/slush. One of my personal tests is to turn off the nannies and find a slushy/snowy road to do some heavy braking, acceleration and intentionally put the car sideways to see how controllable it is, these tires are very predictable and controllable when traction is lost and the car is sideways. Braking is exceptional in poor conditions, and traction off the line and hard acceleration are easily modulated with the throttle.
Cons:
Sidewalls are very soft, I can feel them squish and the car squirm under acceleration/braking and I can feel them roll in the corners. I will try more pressure as the max cold pressure is 50psi and I'm currently running 38psi. They do get better as the temperature drops however, so a very soft compound. Dry traction is lacking compared to summer or all season tires, but at/around legal speeds they are acceptable.
Unknown:
Treadwear - will update at the end of the season, I've had them on since November 14th, and will have them off no later than April 15th (weather dependent).
Would like to hear reviews of what others are running, I decided to try these out as I was/am a diehard General Altimax arctic user, but every now and then like to mix it up to try new things. I don't run studs because my driving style tends to rip them out (I play in the snow/ice, so there is a lot of sideways action and tire spinning); my wife prefers studs as it works well with her driving style
