Heated Seat Discussion (merged threads)

I also got a 2013 ES loaner and noticed the difference. the ES seat warmers get really hot that i have to lower them. I also noticed that the rear defroster is stronger in the ES (took about 4 min to clear up most of the frost this morning). It would take my IS about twice as long. They definitely weakened the electrical system in this car.
I took my car to the dealer asking about the rear defroster and the dealer said it was within the amperage specs.

I feel the same way. In all my previous vehicles especially my Audi S4 right before my IS350 the heated seats were really strong. These seats just seem to get warm not hot. I don't mind because I don't really use it but my wife loves heated seats and says these are ok but not hot enough. Maybe with the timer set off it will be different.

My heated seats gets very warm. (IS300h f-sport)
After two minutes at full power I have to turn it down, if not I get roasted.
However I do not have the nuluxe interior. I have the partial leather\fabric interior.
And I live in the northern parts of europe where most manufactures tend to equip the cars with extra strong seat heaters and bigger batteries.

I have a Non F-sport IS350 and my heated seats work fine. I usually have to turn them down after about 8-10 min. because they get too hot for me. It seems like it's more of a F-Sport issue.

I'm driving the F-Sport and my heated seats work great. I don't wait for them to automatically turn down; usually the highest setting is enough for only 3-4 minutes, then I have to turn them down manually. I don't think it's an F-Sport thing -- maybe it's a problem with a few individual cars. Or maybe everyone needs to wear thinner pants.

My Fsport heated seats are very weak, I can leave them on (high) constantly without getting too warm. With my STI and my wife's Mazda, I have to turn them off after 5 minutes tops. I'm not complaining, but the Fsport heated seats are drastically less than our previous/other cars.

Heated seats
Will be returning to my dealer to find out why they are called heated seats. They are definitely a poor excuse especially when it gets to minus 19 Celcius.

Has anyone made any progress on how to push this further with Lexus? I made sure my dealership knew I was not happy about it. It's -50 degree wind chill here in WI today... it's days like today where I wish the seats would actually get HOT, not just luke warm.

My dealer's shop foreman reported this to corporate under Case Number TA140150152; please feel free to mention same to your dealer so we can get traction on this!
Thanks.

Heated Seats
I have a 2014 IS250 and agree. The heated seats are poor at best; very disappointing.
I emailed Lexus customer service and hopefully I get a favorable response.
I'm sure they are getting a lot of the same complaints.

When set on high, the seats on the IS leather perforated seats only get slightly warm, but the leather perforated seats in the ES get toasty warm. I would expect the temperature to be much higher on the IS. Glad that the heated steering wheel works great.
I have no idea how Lexus could justify the difference in temperature or consider the IS seats to be heated.
