What did your 2014 Lexus IS replace and what did you consider?

My new, as of 1 hour ago, 350 F Sport just replaced a Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior. I bought the truck before I had a daily commute (well, I had one, but it was in CA and I rode the motorcycle every day). I needed something smaller and with better fuel economy for Austin. I also test drove an Infiniti Q50S, but was seriously underwhelmed by it.

Replacing Jaguar XF
When my new IS 350F Sport arrives in November it will replace a 2010 Jaguar XF 3.0 Diesel S.
Great car with super amounts of toque (i.e 600nm), but the service ethic in South Africa for Jaguar is disgusting to say the least and in the last year the car has started to give little irritating problems.
Before that I had an IS 250 SE and nearly cried the day I traded the car in for the JAG. Not a single day of problems with the Lexus for 3 years (and I mean nothing at all)
Before chossing the Lexus IS 350 F Sport, I tested Infinity Q50 & FX, Merc C250 Coupe, BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, New Jaguar XF (facelift), Chrysler 300c, Range Rover Evoque, VW Passat CC. In my opinion none came close to the IS 350 F experience on balance.
And last but not least, Lexus service ethic in SA is astonishingly good and always has been.

Came from a 2008 Honda Accord.
Looked at the Mazda6, A5, BRZ/FRS, A6, GS, Q50, and IS350. Couldn't wait for the CLA or 4 series. It was a toss up for awhile between the Mazda6, IS, and GS. Once I ruled out the Mazda6 for lacking power (loved how it looked and handled and of course the $$$avings), it was between the GS and IS. Ended up with the GS. GS was the better deal (leasing - just 30$/mo more than IS350) but I still kinda wish I could've gotten the IS cheaper to justify it over the GS. Still loving my car though.

I came from a Mercedes C63 coupe. I wanted something better on gas and something without frightening maintenance and repair costs. I was looking at a BMW 435 but they are too expensive new and I didn't want to wait for the used market. I also didn't want to wait for the 2 series or Lexus RC to come out so I went with an IS350. It's quite possible I trade it in for an M235i or RC350 down the line.

The IS replaced my "04 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon as my daily driver - but I kept the Jeep.
I looked at the Mercedes GLK and Range Rover Evoque SUVs but decided since I was keeping an SUV to get a sporty car instead. The IS was the only car I looked at... no need to look any further!

My IS 350 F-Sport will be replacing a 2008 BMW 135i. Looked at the ATS, used M3, and Audi S4. Loved the power of the S4, but the cabin just couldn't compete with the Lexus, nor could the exterior in my opinion. Now I just have to wait 2 months, give or take.

to add to my original post i considered the Audi a4, infiniti Q50, MB CLA = crap, and BMW 328/335 M Sport....not a day goes by that i'm not happy about my final decision hands down best car ever!

From Second to Third Generation
I replaced my 2006 IS 250 AWD, which was excellent and trouble free through the years that I owned it. Really only considered the 2014 IS 250 AWD because it has everything I want -- small, sporty, Eco setting, AWD, and Lexus reliability. And I am loving it!

Welcome to the 3rd generation!
