And many on the BMW forum wish they didn't have to go through that hassle. I would prefer to have one push.

How about:

Adding double press to the Start-Stop button to shut down the car?

Increasing camera quality? Can you guys confirm that it isn't too clear on yours as well?

And fixing the differences in volume from source to source?

Thanks!
I will just come right out and say that I think that this is just one of the stupidest posts I have ever seen. You seem to be trying to intimate, in a way that isn't really very subtle, that everything in the Lexus is supposed to be the same as it is with BMW. You have not explained exactly why a double press of the start/stop button is even desirable, in any objective sense. And why would anyone who is not an idiot have any expectation that through configuration settings it would be possible to improve the sharpness of the back-up camera? Most likely you have not even looked at the lens to make certain that it doesn't have dirt on it.

I just added the link from Bimmerfest to my post. People there don't even know how to turn their radios off thanks to the double press start/stop button. Talk about over complicating things.

I am finding it very difficult not to call you an idiot. There are myriad places inside any car to keep your change, and myriad places to put your glasses. What do you want, a label some where that reads "change" so that you can remember where you put it? I rarely ever carry loose change in a car, and on the rare occasions that I do, I don't have any difficulty deciding where to put it. This is one of the very dumbest things I have ever encountered.

Most of the questions you are asking are explained in the owners manual. I'm starting to wonder if you don't have an owners manual, and if not, then why would this be?

The only way he could possible be getting 10 mpg is if he is driving with the brake on. It is obvious that either (a) he is an idiot, or (b) he doesn't really own an IS and is playing everyone here for a fool.

The metal triangle peice is just for looks, not for the key ring.

14. Used to the double push of the start/stop button to shut off the car (from BMW); any way to program same in this car (I spent 2 minutes trying to figure out why the car was not locking, only to realize it was because it was in accessory mode; not fun)
Sometimes when you buy a different manufacturer's car you have to get used to the way they do things vs the manufacturer you're accustomed to. For instance...ever BMW I've driven I've left in accessory mode because I'm used to Lexus. I'm sure over time I would get used to it, but BMW is unique in their smart key operating that way, I've never driven another car that operates that way. Personally that would frustrate me as I have two cars with smart keys and if I got used to two presses to turn the BMW off I would always leave the Jeep in accessory mode.

48. And, last, but not least, any reason why my MPG’s haven’t been good? Hovering around 10, according to the computer, which is crazy, as I bought this car for fuel economy. Anything to do with a break in period? I'm sure it'll get better.
Why would someone buy an IS350 for fuel economy?

Anyways, when the car is new don't trust the average computer readout. Its been sitting and idling a lot which keeps the average MPG low. If you calculated it yourself it'd be a lot higher.

ANYWAY, hope this thing is good in snow. :|
I'm not sure why you'd expect it would be anything remarkable in the snow...

Evidently the approach to the operation of the turn signal is copied from BMW, and as far as I am concerned it is FUBAR. The idea of using BMW as a measuring stick for gauging the luxury factor is utterly absurd. The same is true for any of the German cars. They all do stuff that is just plain stupid from the standpoint of ergonomics. Lexus should not be making any effort at all to copy BMW. The guy has not explained why he would want to have to press the button twice. It is stupid. If the reason has to do with accessing accessory modes, he should say so, and in that case he needs to read the manual. He took the time to write up a very long list consisting mainly of weird whines, but did not take the time to read the manual. It is inexplicable.

MORE:

1. When I plug something in to either of the two USB ports in the center storage compartment, it feels as though the plug is lose

2. Exceptionally impressed with how quickly contacts transfer from my phone

3. When voice guidance is occurring why doesn’t the system lower the radio volume? I know we can increase the voice guidance volume, but without automatically lowering the radio volume it’s difficult to hear depending on radio volume

4. When saving favorite destinations you can’t enter an intersection, and if you want to, you have to first set a destination as an intersection and then go to prior destinations when saving a favorite; sloppy

5. I’m surprised with how much better the stock sound system is than the premium sound system in my 7, which was at extra cost

6. Not only do the heated seats not get hot enough, but they time out / drop down in bars far too quickly; has to be a programming change for this (at the dealer)

7. I’ve determined that the sound level stays constant between AM and FM radio, but yes, is different between ‘sources’ (i.e.: between broadcast radio and satellite radio), but this still doesn’t help as there seems to be something wrong between AM and FM radio, where AM is lower than FM; never experienced same elsewhere

My mileage has been so bad thus far that I'm thinking my dealer filled my delivery tank up on regular! Need to run through a couple of tanks to figure this one out... :|

Not sure what's wrong, KeyserS; so much effort on your part.

By having to press twice you don't have to shut off the car completely and turn it back on if you want to run it in accessory mode when you get to a destination. This applies to either wanting to stay connected to a telephone call, to continue using the navigation system or to rolling up the windows or closing the sun roof, if forgotten; several times I've rolled up the power rear and rear side window sun shades in accessory mode after shutting down the engine, as I had forgotten to do so while the engine was on.

You must be misunderstanding me, I never asked if we can increase the clarity of the back-up camera; I asked if everyone else's is blurry as well. And, yes, no dirt.

It's dumb to have an ash tray to put change in or to have an eyeglasses holder? To explain, as if explanation is needed: when I go to a store and get change back, I put it in my cars’ ash tray, as I don’t like to keep it on me. The change comes in handy when parking where there are meters. When the ash trays get too full, I take them to my bank. Simple as that.

Surprised you didn't proffer alternative (c) as being "both (a) and (b)"

I'm not up on the lingo of what FUBAR means, nor do I care to look it up, but you're simply immature. Never said Lexus should copy BMW. Agree with me or not, these are all things I've noticed, that I'm sharing with the board. Don't get so uptight; relax a little.

Thanks.

I have to say that a sunglass compartment and ashtray should be standard on all vehicle.

Lexus could have placed the SOS thingy somewhere else. Sure we can put the glasses in the armrest compartment but a separate compartment would keep the glasses safe from scratches.

It doesn't sound like you put much thought or even really looked at the $50k car you were about to buy...

THANKS FOR THE TIP, doctorttt! May still drill a hole to the cup holder...

Otherwise, the Rear-View Camera looks blurry to me.

And does anyone know the difference between the two Guidance Tone Types? I've tried both and they sound the same.

Thanks!
