That explains it! You're looking at the wrong screen to determine your average MPG. That is showing your current MPG as you drive. As you accelerate it moves left, and when you coast it moves back to the right.

Scroll through the screens until you find the average fuel economy. It will be listed numerically and tell you how to reset. P. 87 of your owner's manual has the detail.

Nothing is wrong with your car. You're just reading the wrong screen on your information display.

I know the screen you're referring to and it stated I have averaged 8.4 mpg's (worse than yesterday)!? BUT the picture I posted DOES show the average mpg's too, which is the small white triangle, which shows less than 10 mpg's (or, specifically, the 8.4 mpg's of the full screen). What moves when you drive is a blue bar that shows 'current' mpg's, which lights behind the small white triangle shown; there's no bar in the picture is because it was taken at standstill. Thanks though!

The average mark is definitely below 10 MPG. Something is wrong with the engine, or you're driving on low gear all the time.

I have to agree with the op. Some of the points he listed are completely valid. Such as the rear view camera quality (coming from ct200h I can confirm its alot worse), head rest with only one level of adjustment etc.

And that navigation system is a complete joke! I've never come across a system that is so laggy and unfunctional. Its horrendous. It's very obvious that it should have never been released in the current state. And what's even worse? The stupid moron dealers in my area and they have absolutely no idea about the update. I called two dealers and gave them a TSIB number and they're still clueless. I'm going to write a letter to lexus corporate to address this.

Some people in this thread need to get off the lexus cool aid. It's a beautiful car but doesn't mean it's perfect.

I have the same engine in my GS and I'm averaging globally 19.9MPG. It definitely improved as the car broke in.

One of 3 things are going on here:

1. The average is polluted by extensive idling, perhaps when setting up displays and such in the driveway?
2. You're driving the car very hard
3. Something is wrong with the car and the display

I would fill it up and run it out and calculate the MPG manually...
