Dealer pickup checklist
Hi all - my August special order IS350 F-Sport is finally at port and on it's way to lovely Wisconsin. I'm wondering if folks could help me with a checklist of items I should be doing when I go to pick up the car. This is my first new car purchase, so I appreciate any help.
I've seen in some threads to check the entire car interior/exterior/rims over very thoroughly for any marks, make sure everything is perfect. I've also read to NOT purchase any of the extra paint protection, or stuff where they make instant profit on. Any other issues or things to watch for, that you guys had when picking up your car?
I'm also wondering anything else I should try to have them throw in while there; update the software? change the blinker frequency from 3 to 5/7? any other useful dealer changes to have them do before I take delivery?
Thank you in advance for your help!!

If it's a black car, do not let the dealer wash it....do it yourself or take it somewhere to do a "new car prep." Most likely they'll introduce swirl marks all over the damn thing. Learned that lesson from a friend. Also, try to get free crap from them - got 2 key gloves, key chain, and water bottle.

There are some personalization settings that dealer can set but it states you have to wait until your 5000 mile service.

I thought this is something that comes with the car... all Lexus cars actually. I haven't had a single Lexus (5) when they didn't have the key gloves, I have never had to ask for them. My 3IS even had the F-sport ones. The only ones I have had to ask for are the special ones like the rubber ones in different colors etc...

That's interesting. I imagine there will be several people on this site who did not get the key gloves when they got their cars. Let me check ebay to see if there lots of them for sell by someone other than a dealer.

Thanks all, for the help thus far. Anything else I should keep in mind?
I'll definitely check if the key gloves are in the car or not, otherwise will ask my dealer for them.

If you have red interior you should also get red stitched floor mats. Some have gotten non-F Sport floor mats.
