I am 100 percent positive that its the dash. Ive had problems with cold air coming through the dash in my GS and in my IS every seal is perfectly tight. The material underneath the leather wrapped dash in the GS is not as thick as the material in the IS. I am 100 percent positive this is why the GS sounds better. The sound is simply delivered through a thinner material in the GS and thus sounds louder and better. I drive both of these cars back to back on a daily basis. Id love someone to prove me wrong because this is obviously not a fixable issue but as i said i am 100 percent sure i am correct.

I have no doubt you are correct about the cabin sound. However the intake or cabin sounds have no correlation to how the exhaust sounds. And that's where I've been heading. I'm sure with the same engine, intake and generator, inside the cabin both GS and IS sound alike or quite similar. But my question really is why does the factory GS exhaust sound so good but yet the factory IS exhaust is a bit more quiet and not as bubbly burply vroom vroom? Want to go in circles for the 4th time lol? Again just questioning why there is such a significant sound difference when you're listening to the exhaust of both cars? If not the exhaust then what?

Again i don't think the exhausts sound different and if they do the difference is not noticeable to my ear. Hopefully others will weigh in.

Again this is my point it is louder because of the delivery of the intake noise into the cabin !!!
