Default Direct Fit LED Panel

I just bought a direct fit LED panel for the 3IS to replace the front and rear map/interior lights. Im really impressed with how this works. Each panel is wired to the 3 sockets (1 door/interior, 1 driver map, 1 passenger map lights). When you open the door only the LED on the front edge will light up. When you use a map light that half of the panel lights up. Awesome great looking upgrade

The LEDs are easier to install than the 2IS. On the 2IS you had to remove screws and the control panel to access the lights. On the 3IS all you have to do is pop the lens off, very very easy. Took less than 5 min to change them out.

I dont have any pics of it on my vehicle but the store I bought it from took clearer pics anyways. If you use some google fu you can find a coupon code.

i think i like these better than the ones i got from the HIPpowerhouse.com
i wish the car had a single LED low intensity for ambient lighting at night.
but this looks like a better solution than the lighting that came stock by a long way.

I like the look of LEDs but I've always found the warm yellow lights more soothing at night. I do like the dimming feature of these panels though, maybe I'll try them out.

I also think the warm yellow light brings out the red in the Rioja interior. The LED tends to grey it out a bit.

I installed it in the front dome only, a bulb I had left over from another car. I just did it as a test. Disabled all the others to get an idea of what it would look like. I personally didn't like it and the color time against the red. I think against the grey and black it would look good.

NorCal thread needs a bump. Lol

How visible are the individual LEDs to the naked eye?

very visible, you can sit there and count them if you want. It appears just like the youtube video. Entire interior lights up with the front and rear panels

there isnt a way around it, the lens itself is pretty clear, not as frosted as the 2IS was. You can go with just the wedge bulbs but wont have anywhere near the light output

Alternatively you can lightly sand the inside of your lens to create a matte look that won't show through but still have the same output.
