car just hit 16K miles. i've been averaging about 22-24 mpg with about 65/35 highway/city. lower end of that is if i'm thrashing the car in sport + mode all the time, but usually i'm in eco cruising down the highway or from stop light to the next.
also calling BS on the guy getting 38MPG. you would be lucky to break 28 going 100% highway driving normally, but it also seemed like he did some hypermiling techniques so who knows.
I don't mean to insult anyone's intelligence, but the way i measure my MPG is by manually resetting the trip meter every fillup and dividing that number by the gallons of gas i filled up per trip. i noticed on the car computer there are several ways to "compute" mpg (you can keep a rolling MPG count from the time you reset it for example), but the way i described is the best way to get true mpg readings in my opinion

Now, that was just the 180 mile trip I had. My car's mpg is in the high 29-30's. If you are curious, just look up methods on how to hyper mile.

IMO. If I wanted better mpg, I wouldve gotten a 250 or even a CT. Lol
but anyways. I think the main reason why the our cars get crap mpg is because when we drive on local streets, you come to a complete stop often and would have to reaccelerate which causes for our bad mpg. The 8spd transmission doesnt really help with better mpg when accelerating but instead helps when you are cruising. On average I get 17mpg and that is mainly because I drive mainly city streets. The 350 is capable of getting 28mpg.... only if you drive all highway without any stops. hahaha
ALSO, for the 350s, when driving 40mph, the car is in the 7spd. The car wont let you be in the 8spd until you are driving at about 45mph

Driving local for the first 500 miles... First 200 included some highway but the last three was purely local. Currently the car is at around 19.3mpg. sport plus runs here and there.. Hoping it'll get better...

It greatly depends on my commute, how I am driving it and what driving mode I am in. I have seen my tanks of gas range from mid 17s to 33+ mpg. All of this has been in the Phoenix heat, so my A/C is cranked as well. There are so many factors I feel likes its almost impossible to compare my MPGs to anyone else's unless we are driving the same route, at the same speeds, in the same conditions, etc.

I have 10018 miles and I get about 26 on a highway trip on ECO mode.
I average about 22 because most of my driving is on the Highway. It took about 6000 miles and I saw about 5 MPG difference
These numbers also vary hugely on the driver...

hmm, dunno if this helps anyone but i've had my car for about 3 months now, 8k miles (yeah, a lot, i know)
i drive mostly highway to get to and from work, mostly in eco / normal mode, and these past few weeks i've noticed that i've been getting 355+ miles per tank (if you look at the image and add the trip + range values, i reset my trip odometer after every fillup) most people tell me the "range" estimator isn't accurate, but as far as i can tell.. it seems fairly accurate to me when i look at the odometer before each fill up (i typically wait until i have 15% left in the tank before each fillup)
anyway, i remember when i first got the car, after each fill up, the range estimator said 320-325 miles.. now after 3 months, it's about 353.. no change in driving style. i wouldn't say i'm a super aggressive driver, but i'm not a "grandma" driver either
it's about 23 mpg overall.. it still isn't the "19 city / 28 highway" as advertised, but i'm happier about the mileage now than when I first purchased the car
---
i also tried putting in 89 octane gas instead of 91 a couple times.. lost about 10-15 miles in distance travelled per fill up.. pretty safe to say, not to cheap out when it comes to the fuel

i get between 25-27 mpg per fill up mixed. driving long distances on the highway will get me close to 30 if i stick under 70mph.
yeah... lexus built the engines to be very reliable, not too keen on the MPGs
