Bad MPG is350 f sport

I downsized from a Range Rover for better mpg's and I should be getting better mpg's, as many others are. Stuck in traffic, low teens, maybe. 50-50 highway to city, low teens, no.

On the weekdays, i drive about 65 miles r/t, mostly stop and go traffic, 95% of my day. on the weekends, i'll hit some 50% hwy and 50% suburban driving. i'm averaging 19-20 mpg. try running in eco and normal mode most of the time, ditch the leadfoot and learn to drive smoothly (it'll help when winter comes as well), and try to refrain from flooring it quickly or in length,...try to stay under 2k or 2500rpm. i'm sure you'll see your mpgs go up.

what part of NY are you in? If you're anywhere near Manhattan, low teens are totally possible, even 50/50 highway to city. I was lucky if i see 11-12 MPG in a Mercedes GL450

Otherwise, yes, 10-12 mpg's was the reason for the purchase, but only getting 12-14 mpg's now... :|
Thanks guys.

Thanks for the tips, but I've tried Eco Mode, don't have a lead foot and have been driving smoothly and don't floor it, as I've been paying attention to this matter.
I live on Long Island and work in Queens. Not sure how very low teens is acceptable, if others on are getting very high teens on 50-50 highway to city driving.

Not sure how else to put this, but my car is getting poor gas mileage and I'd like resolution. First dealer I brought it to for this returned it to me with a repair order stating they performed a fuel consumption test and my car was getting 21 mpg's; what many here cite. My car has never gotten same and I called them out on it, requiring a road test with me right then and there. Best we were able to get was 14 mpg's (master tech driving), so I had them add same to the repair order. While many are citing mileage in-line with that stated on our window stickers, I and some others aren't. :|

Yes, which is why I'm not expecting 21, but 18, which seems to be the middle ground. A second corporate rep is scheduled to view my car later this month. Let's see what happens. If anyone else has any updates or other info, please let us know. Thanks.

for all we know.. this could turn into another mpg fiasco like bmw's 3 series.. originally the bavarian company claimed it was 34 hw mgp, but then after some complaints from customers maybe (??) and with epa invovled (again possibly), bmw was forced to change its 34 to 33 mpg. i recall this happened on the rx-8 several years ago... maybe the real mpg for the 3IS really is 15ci/22hw for all we know guess we'll have to wait and see.

Reading this thread is painful.
While I don't expect amazing mpg results from Lexus IS350 V6 engine, I was at least expecting a average around the mid 20's.
It's shocking to hear that some people are getting mpg in the upper teens (or low 20's). That's just about equivalent to the mpg numbers of the 8 cylinder, 6.2 Liter, 450 HP+ engine in the newer Corvettes.
I hope Lexus can address this or better, offer a IS350 F-Sport Hyrbid that can compete with the Q50S Hybrid in terms of mpg. I would surely be a customer even if the MSRP is slightly higher.

I will say that the fuel economy isn't bad for a 306hp engine. Stop-start is the main reason that similarly powerful engines get better economy and I don't really trust that technology. It's also worth noting that an engine's economy rating is sometimes not congruent with reality. For example, the Hyundai 3.8L is rated the same as the Lexus 3.5L but in actuality the 3.8 is a bit worse.
