Its the same way here in Arizona....the highways are death to front end's in regards to rocks and chips and all the other debris that may hit it. I had the car for only 2 weeks before I put on the Xpel paint protection on it and it had multiple hits on the front end already...did a little touch up on the chips before the clear bra application and you cant even tell now. Glad I got it on before anything really bad happened.

Well I ordered the doctor colorchip and am currently waiting on delivery. I am also planning on getting a clear bra for the front bumper part of the hood/fenders and the mirrors. Got quoted a really decent price from a reputable place up here in ny with good reviews. It's gonna be freezing here for the next week so when it warms up I'll take the car to my car guy and have him detail the car and get the swirls that the dealership put there out and ill apply the touch up. Ill post pics to show how it went and right after I'll go and get my clear bra then my mind will finally be at ease lol

I've already experienced several small rock chips. All of them have been repaired using Lexus touch up except one on the liquid graphite wheel. Apparently, no touch up paint is available for the wheels.
A small blemish on the windshield is the most disappointing, but at least it didn't crack the glass or create a bulls eye.
I don't find the paint to be more fragile than other cars I've owned.
Road rash is just a fact of life.

When I owned a 2nd gen obsidian I bought a black wax specifically made for black cars. I think turtle wax makes it. It really helps for paint swirls but it also comes with black wax (hard) that comes in a lip stick container. The hard wax works well and fills in all the paint chips. It's not a permeant solution however it helps mask all the chips for a little while.

White is a easy color and is best at covering scratches, small chips etc. Its even better than the silver color. Once you fix the chip with toutch up paint properly, you wont see it until you are really close.
