Trading in IS250 F-Sport for an IS350 F-Sport in a Year?
So I'm in love with my 2014 IS250 F-Sport however the extra 100 hp of the IS350 is a little too much for me to ignore. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience trading in a lease early for another model (I have a 27 month lease). I've heard rumors that Lexus is changing the engine for the 2015 IS models so that's another reason as to why I'd want to switch, presumably in a year.
For those that have experience in this matter, did you have to pay anything extra to trade in your lease for a higher model? Also, I'd like to keep my monthly payments the same so, did you see a bump in your monthly payments if you upgraded?
Thanks!

If you go into your Lexus Financial account online, you can look up your "Payoff Information". This is basically what it will cost to get out of your lease. So if you were to trade it in, you'd need your trade in value to be more than this amount, otherwise you'll have to pay the difference out of pocket.
With that said, with trading in a car that's only one year old (big depreciation hit), and upgrading to a more expensive car, I really can't see a way, without a substantial down payment in addition, that you could keep your payments the same.

I see, thank you! I heard people getting relatively the same monthly payments as me ($350/month) in CA so I was hoping my dealership would somehow be open to negotiation. At my 1000 mile check up, I asked about the possibility of trading in my IS250 in a year and the guy said that it shouldn't be a problem if I do decide to trade. But who knows, it could just be dealership talk.

You have to pay off the lease. It' will cost you ridiculous money to upgrade.

I doubt the 3.5 engine is going to be upgraded any time soon so it wouldn't make sense to break your lease for a 2015 model. I would hang on for another two years and at that point an upgrade to the 350 might be on the horizon.
