Default Woke up to a dead IS350 F Sport

So this morning I went out to my car to go to the gym like every morning and could not get in my car. I noticed the LED parking lights front and back were blinking very dim. I couldn't get in the car and had to use the key. The car was completely dead. I called lexus and they said to call lexus service and bring the car in. I call SOS around 9 AM and was told a flat bed would arrive with the hour. 10 AM rolls around and they call back saying that the tow truck would be there around 10:45. 11 comes around and they call back and now it's 11:40. Finally at 12:15 they call again and say they are using another tow company and they will be there around 12:40. He didn't arrive till 1:00. We then put a jumper pack on it for a little and got it to start. I drove straight to Lexus and they told me it needed a new battery. That is insane I've had the car for less then a month with 950 miles on it and it needs a new battery. They said this can happen sometimes the batteries are defective. They put a new battery in and gave me the NAV update as well. For the inconvenience they also threw in all weather floor mats. All I can say was I was not happy as I had a bunch of errands to run and this is my only car.

Has this happened to anyone else?

There has been several posts regarding dead battery. Apparently there is a bad batch batteries out there from the supplier and some of them ended up in the 3IS.

Same happened with my colleague and his new ES300h. Defective battery replaced. If something will take down a Lexus, it will be the battery.

I found it funny when I imagined myself in such a situation with my 3IS and my previous BMW.

In the 3IS, I would be "Damn, a defective battery just caused me so much trouble!"

While in the bimmer, I would be like "Thank god! It's just a bad battery not something else."
