This is where I put mine, it has a metal plate (really thin) that fits inside of my iPhone case and uses the magnetic pad to hold it in place.

thanks for the pic man!
i guess you used double sided tape to make it stay in its spot?

No, it's a suction cup.

thanks again man!
looks very promising!

do you by any chance know if the suction will work on the vertical place right underneath the CD slot?
the place where the microSD card is hidden for the nav?
i think that place would be best for me to have the phone.. but since there's a hidden cover for the microSD, not sure if the gaps at the microSD cover will affect the suction?

i keep mine between the centre console and my seat. Lexus added a pad between the seat and console so things won't fall through to the floor.

Can someone post a pic to show me what it looks like when a text appears?
You are misunderstanding how this works. Once you've enabled those settings as you did, it will only pop up SMS or iMessages onto the Nav screen when they come in.

The "Messages" section that you are navigating too won't show you anything, that's actually for emails, which does not work with the iPhone.

Hope that helps.

I was pondering one of these types of mounts too but worried it wouldnt work with our CD slot.
Finally pulled the trigger for a slightly different design but same concept today.
Sorry it took me so long but here are a few to show you where and how it is held.

thanks to 2014IS250, i went with the magnet phone holder!
not the best place i'd like to place my phone tho.. but it's the only place since my phone is pretty big
i'd prefer to have my phone somewhere around the center console, but this place is great to get a quick glance at the phone and not take my eyes off the road!

once again, i wish i could have kept the holder somewhere around the center console.. my OCD tells me it looks out of place when there isn't a phone on
