if you're a college grad, i think they give the rebate two you if you graduated within the past 2 or 4 years i can't remember. if you are a graduate (masters, MBA, phD, etc), there is no time limit, they'll always give it to you. and what i meant by taxes and processing fees is find a dealer whose willing to work with you on the taxes and fees. with vehicle tax it varies by state. with processing fees it varies by dealer (one dealer wanted $500 for processing, f-in nuts!!!) they can always massage that kind of stuff. the delivery fee as well. my internet salesman fumbled the numbers and said delivery was 455 instead of 910. when i saw the finance break out, it was 910 for delivery but they gave a "dealer discount" for 455 at the bottom. so yeah those dealer a-holes can always fix the numbers anyway they want!

Good point. I didn't think about that. I'm sure LFS will want to be the lienholder to give me the rebate.

OK, I gotcha now. Thanks. I'm picking up a special order vehicle and the price and fees have already been negotiated and set. I just need to make sure the dealer doesn't try to tack on any price "adjustments" or fees at delivery.

Is there an expiration date on this rebate?

I'm financing for 3.25% as a co signer for LFS, would it be worth it the time to scout out a lower rate?

Correct, you can't have two loans on one car. I tried, and failed, not bc I didn't have the money, but wanted to boost my credit by paying the down payment loan a month after and financing with Lexus to get the rebates. Btw, don't let them tell you you can't finance any less than 10k. It's bull...but then if you do finance with LFS for say $5,000, where the hell are u going to get the other say $40k?

Yes, rebates can expire. It's based on what LFS is offering, each month, each region. However you can lick them in. I think it's called a "call in" my rebates expired 1/2, but the dealer didn't have the car until 1/14. I out $1k down showed I was serious, and they did a call in to lock my rebates.

They didn't match my CU rate but they came closer than original quote and I did get the rebate.

I don't understand your logic. Lexus has a special APR for 1.9 or take 750 rebate and take regular non special apr thru lexus only. To take advantage of 750 rebate, you have to finance thru lexus. If you did take the rebate, how can the dealer match the lexus special apr of 1.9, that defeats the whole purpose of 1.9 or the rebate.

I took delivery of my car in January and I was able to finance through LFS for 1.99% for 60 months and also get the $750 rebate. I paid the loan off when I got my first month statement. 1.99% rate was much lower than the first rate I got quoted from dealer for the LFA financing. I had to ask them to get the rate closer to 1.49% rate which I had preapproval from CU. But CU gives these low rates only for loan terms of < 24 months. Rates go up as your loan terms go longer.

It looks like I will have to finance with LFS to get the $750 and then refinance with my CU for the lower rate. I'll see what kind of rate I can get from LFS but it's doubtful they will match or beat my CU of 1.9%. As was stated, right now they are advertising either $750 or 1.9% which goes thru 3/31 in my region.

The car arrives at the port tomorrow night so it's getting really close.
