Even though I'm biased since I consider myself first and foremost an enthusiast, I chose the isf for two reasons, driving dynamics and feel, and exclusivity.
Besides the LFA, there's nothing in the current Lexus line up that has the dynamics and feel of a 2011+ isf. Aside from the hp advantage everything about the isf feels so much more aggressive and responsive, from the transmission to the suspension to how it grabs the road. The 3is has a great feel to it, but hoping out of one and into an isf, you can feel the difference. You don't need to take it to a track and use all 400+ hp to enjoy it. I wish the isf was updated with all the new gadgets, but that's something I'm willing to sacrifice to drive with a smile on my face around town.
As far as exclusivity goes, the 3is will soon be as common as the current 2is. The isf will still be a rare sight, at least around my location.
You can't go wrong with either, but I would choose the isf if it were my choice or at least wait for the RC models

I believe the final production numbers for the IS-F will be around 11,000 which will make Lexus' first "F" car a fairly rare car (much like the MKIV Toyota Supras) and it will likely give it a much better resale value compared to the 3IS F-Sport.

Torque overrides the fact that everything else about the car is old tech? I don't know that anyone who is into cars will want to buy the 2ISF. At least I wouldn't because I'd be pretty confident that the type of person to buy a car like that is exactly the type of person to beat the crap out of the car.

I bought a brand new 2012 IS-F last last year and a brand new 2014 Is350 AWD FSport this year for the winter. If nothing els matters... Just car vs car and only to have one car...I would rather keep the Is-F over the 3IS.

3Gen IS or IS-f
I was looking around and have priced a 2014 IS 250 f-sport and an 08 IS-F. Just wanted to get input which one should be best. Why would I get the new IS vs the IS-F?

Depend how much you drive and is it a weekend car or a daily? I prefer isF for weekend car more than daily. Daily I would stick with the is350 as I like to be on the gas more. It really depends on what you intent to use It for.

The IS250 doesn't belong in this choice. Comparing an IS250 with an IS-F just seems weird.
Better choice between IS350 F-Sport and IS-F.
If it was me I'd choose the IS-F. I'm more comfy in that car plus it has more power. It's also more rare.
I'm a big guy and driving any IS configuration is not something I'd do but the 3IS tight cockpit is just too claustrophobic for me.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. It will not be a daily driver but it'll be driven 2-3x a week I have a daily yaris and weekend GTR and I wanted to get into the car show scene again as well.
