On the surface, it sounds like a pretty good deal. If you could provide the selling price, residual, and money factor, we could tell for sure. Also, annual miles.

My car was totaled a week ago (it was parked, I was at work) and am thinking about a 350 f sport awd, was looking at the nx 200t f sport but i feel like i could get a better deal on the IS 350. Power doesn't make that much of a difference to me (IS250 just does not have enough). I'm in the NY/NJ area and usually have good luck pinning dealers against each other with multiple refundable deposits down during the process. I have never heard of the MSDs, is this a Lexus thing? Because it does seem sort of appealing.

WHERE DOES THE $5000 down payment go when you TOTAL THE CAR?
Let me tell you the answer:
Not back to you. It's lost forever.

Sounds like they are leasing you the car with no discount - you should shoot for around 450 a month with absolutely zero drive off. Unfortunately, I don't think NY allows MSDs so you can't use some of that 5k for that. But as the other poster suggests, don't put down a wad of money up front.

Take it easy, not everyone knows all that. MsD is a down payment that at the end of the lease you get back, the benefits is that it will lower your MF aka APR % and can save you a lot of money!

Oh ok, thanks. Thank you guys. I guess not having good credit got me in this situation?

About to pull the trigger on this lease...
Hi all,
I'm getting out of a lease early on my 2013 Nissan Sentra SV and in to a 2015 IS 350 F Sport. It's an under-water lease, and Lexus is buying out the car for resale, and rolling the deficit in to my payments. I was able to negotiate the trade-in value up a bit and the MSRP down considerably. I've put down a deposit but haven't signed the deal yet. Below are the details.
2015 Lexus IS 350 F Sport AWD
Exterior: Silver Lining Metallic
Interior: Black
Luxury Pkg
Nav System Pkg
Preferred Accessory Pkg
Parking Assist / Heated Steering Wheel / Radar Cruise Ctrl / All-weather floor mats
36/12k Lease
MSRP: $50,625, negotiated down to $46,507
Buying out my current leased car for $13,772 and giving me $11,750 for the trade-in ($2,022 deficit)
Residual 63% ($31,894)
Money Factor 0.00100 (2.4% APR)
$800 drive-off cost incl. tax/title/first mo. payment, etc.
$583.66/mo. tax included
Thoughts? Does this sound like a decent deal, especially considering I'm getting out of an under-water lease that's not even half-completed?
Thanks!
Curt
