Default Using same wheels for Summer & Winter Tires

I'm going to use the factory wheels for both Summer and Winter tires. I had my winter tires mounted in January and just today had my Summer tires put back on. I know with staggered setup you can't rotate the wheels but since I'm mounting tires twice year (until I burn through the factory summers and decide on summer wheels) will they be able to rotate my tires by mounting it on the opposite side each time?

The tire size are not the same so they will not be able to rotate front to back/back to front

OP understands that.

He's asking if it would be beneficial to rotate:

L <---> R

I think like 60% of turns are right hand turns. So yeah. You'll get some benefit out of it.

You can rotate side by side if they are asymmetrical tires

^^... and this depends on what tires you have. Best would be to either check the tire wall or ask your installator.

I'm using the factory tires for summer and Michelin X-Ice Xi3 for winter. From the pictures they look to be asymmetrical. Is that spec listed some where on TireRack.com?

If I remember correctly Sony, the factory summer tires are unidirectional (or directional) tires--meaning they are mounted on only one way. That being said you can't swing them side to side. If you get asymmetrical tires once you burn through the factory ones, only then can you rotate side to side

I agree these are unidirectional but what would be the issue for either of these sets of tires from rotating side to side? For sure X-Ice Xi3 look asymmetrical and ER33 have very slight difference from one side to next but not sure if that would cause issues if it's mounted on one side or the other. Does TireRack.com have specs indicating this?

Thank you.

What makes you think the Turanza ER33 are directional??
The Turanza ER33 molds a summer tread compound into a 5-rib, symmetric tread design that provides predictable handling and traction on dry roads, while circumferential tread grooves and lateral notches help evacuate water from under the tire's footprint to enhance wet traction and reduce hydroplaning.

The Xi 3 is actually directional.
Michelin's FleX-Ice silica-based winter tread rubber compound (offers firmness at higher temperatures for wet and dry road stability while it remains flexible at lower temperatures to enhance packed snow and ice traction) is molded into a directional tread design that helps evacuate water and slush to improve hydroplaning resistance
