Default Resetting Radio?

My sales rep states to fix the HD Traffic and Weather issue I need to bring the car in to have the radio reset. He states it needs to be connected to their computer to reset. Does any know if this is something I can do myself without connecting to computer?

Thanks.

If you push down the volume button on the stereo for a few seconds it will reboot, but not sure this is consider reset.

I asked the sales guy if I could do this on my own and he stated it need to be connected to their computer to reset the radio. I'm not sure why. I thought perhaps they were performing firmware upgrade on the radio and he stated it was just reset. I don't think I've heard anyone else having to do this.

I think there is a reset function in the service menu.

Put the car in ACC mode.
press and hold the menu button on the center console
cycle the headlights 3 times.

I am not responsible for any damage that you may or may not do to your car.

Well, this does not sound too convincing.

I've been going back and forth with the Mrs. car. Had it at the dealer Thursday. They were clueless. Sent her home with no fix. Then they called and said clear the personal settings. Just like people here have been saying. Did that, and it worked, although I think I wiped out the stereo settings. Or maybe the dealer did that. Today, she was just in the car and it did not work. She got that downloading message and then it kicked her back to the menu. I decided to try something else. I switched the stereo from XM to radio, tuned to an HD station, went back and looked, at the weather was working. Not sure what if anything being tuned on a HD radio station effects reception of weather. Sort of throwing my hands up at this point. Let's just hope for sunny days, thus making the weather function useless. Sort of like it already is!

Thanks for the update but I'm more interested in getting the HD Traffic info. Weather seems to work if I set the data service to HD & Mobile and start the Enform app on my phone.

I do have the HD Radio station tuned most of the time and no data is being received on HD. I made an appointment for 5/17 so I guess I'll just hang tight until then and see what happens after dealer does the "radio reset".

Default Reset the radio

I just picked up an approved used nx and only the front tweeters are working, unfortunately I live a 5 hour drive from the dealer. I managed to reset it by taking the fuse out and counting to 10. All working again now!
